Default OT: Not so sure about this...

We're going to West Virginia today to meet some people near some river or
other, where we will be "rafting". Apparently, it's not the Huckleberry Finn
style of transit, where you float along and wave at riverboats and play
cards and eat catfish as you drift towards the next town, perhaps singing a
colorful spiritual or two.

No; some kind of protective jackets and headgear are required (the Special
Raft?) and there's talk of "white water"...?
I have been assured that lunch is provided.
They've mentioned nothing specifically about a change of underwear.

We went "Rafting in the Smokies" a couple years ago in TN. A one and a
half hour trip down the Big Pigeon River. Twelve class three rapids....
three class four rapids.... the ride was AWESOME! We lost two of our rafters
(at two different times, but got them both pulled back into the boat
safely - i vote to stay away from the front position!) and at the end of the
trip I was so stoked that I wanted to try to get on another trip that same
day on an even more challenging river. (That didnt work out though ;-)

I have much enjoyed the Huckleberry Finn trips down our local rivers and
creeks, but was glad for the white water experience. Whoo Hoo! Have fun
Jef.!

Jef. - cs ("chicken-shit") that I am, I think I'd opt for the Huck
Finn type tour. But go and have fun, you adventurous devil, you. And
I'd take a change of underwear, just to be safe.
Hugs,
Pam
