On a sidenote (what's a reply to you without a related story) ...

I apparently 'volunteered' to be the 'Official Photographer Of The
Wife's Family Reunion' ... and I thought 'What better reason to buy a
NEW CAMERA?'

So I'm savin' and lookin' ... I think I'll pass on the D-40 tho ...
great price, great brand name ... but ...

IMHO, Wise choice about the D40. Love the pelican as well. Some idiot said
to me that I'll *never* be able to photograph them feeding since it's seldom
seen. He claims that he's sat there for *hours* and that he's never seen
them catch a fish.

The pics you saw were taken within 30mins of my arrival.

Beginners luck maybe? Dunno, but sure was a rewarding outing.

You're welcome..and thanks for the compliment. I still have a ways to go in
developing this skill set, but at least I can do it without the stress of
smoking.
