and hope he does not have to suffer too much.
One of the few faithful, great and damed good looking Hollywood

I didn't know he was ill. I did a bit of googling and it seems people are
saying he might have some sort of cancer but nothing very definite. Is it
really smoking related?

It probably is smoking-related. According to info at this address - http://film.guardian.co.uk/news/stor...284887,00.html - "Newman
recently gave up cigarettes after many years of smoking."

He smoked like a stove, on and off the set. I don't think he ever
made a movie where he did not smoke.
From the looks of him he is in the end stages of lung cancer, he looks
just like my husband did. Somebody said stage 4, but you know how
people talk.

Smoker or not, he's a great actor and I am impressed with his
acommplistments and the fact he's been married to one woman his whole
life - that is quite unusual in Holllywood. I don't really care about
the movie scene, but I hope his demise is greatly exaggerated.

What demise? He is still alive, just fighting for his life. I
respect him for his talent and being faithful to Joanne for all those
years, one of few.
