| | | ping*BECKY Cmon sweetie, you know the routine by now.
You also know that I've been there, done that, and have the same T-shirts as
you.
;-)
Becky, I think one of the major differences between your
serial-quit-adventure and mine is that I never left as3. I never ran away.
Even in the between times, while I was smoking, I was reading and cheering
others on. (I refrained from giving any advice then tho.)
After a few years of starts and stops, I believe that I had finally
brainwashed myself back into normal (as opposed to addictive) thinking, with
as3 being the major contributor.
So, please...stay involved here, read constantly, use all the resources you
have and
'let's git er done!'...it's your turn girlfriend!
Love,
Cat

| | | Re: ping*BECKY Becky, I well remember Cat's epic public struggles to quit smoking and
how stubborn she was about not ever disconnecting from this group. This
is great advice from someone who has been in your shoes. If you take it
and do it, it will be something different for a change, and perhaps you
will start getting different results.

| | | Re: ping*BECKY Becky! I totally agree with what Cat has written. Be present here
regardless of your status regarding smobriety. Sooner or late you
will find the right combo and you will cast off the chains of nicotine
and join us on the smober road and ease on down the road.

| | | Re: ping*BECKY I hung around and slipped for 1.5 years - from 01/01/01 to 06/16/02 the most
time I got was 3 weeks. There was another lady who I watched slip and slide
too - Nicole (Freezing in Wisconson) and she was a great inspiration as I
finally saw her get smober. After a while I followed her too.
I smoked on 6/10/02 and then 6 days later I slipped and smoked a few - my
last.
Someone told me, too, that it was "demoralizing" to see people slip the way
I was. Oh well.
Keep comin' back!
With hope and heart,
Kathleen
