Sunder, rather than going to a psychiatrist, I would suggest you
consider
Chantix [champix] as a quit aid. I used it this last quit
and it really did take the urge to smoke way down so that getting
smober really was easy. Certainly there are drawbacks to using it
just as there ar with any of the NRTs but I found that as long as I
ate a meal when I took the pill I had no upset stomach and the other
stuff was very manageable. Certainly do go back to the FAQs and read
up on all of the options with NRTs and find one that really will work
for you. IMHO, to quit for only a few days and then blow it and then
re-quit really is painful and unproductive. Give yourself a few days,
pick a quit date and stick with it. There is NO reason to ever smoke
and as long as you can say that to yourself when you get an urge, it
does help. Remember: When you get an urge, it will pass in a few
minutes whether or not you smoke, so JUST DO NOT SMOKE!
