Default Stopping By

Hi All!

I have been busy with life, but have stopped in to check on all my AS3
friends regularly. This place saved my life, and I will be eternally
grateful to each and every one of you.

Me, I am just so happy that I don't smoke, that I cannot begin to
describe my joy. I spent the summer on the road with the doggies, in
the camper I bought with some of my quit savings. I ran with my agility
dogs with some of the oxygen available to me because I quit. I do not
forget, for even a minute, how much being healthy and free from
addiction has added to my life. Thank you, AS3!

For those of you beginning this journey - it does get ever so much
better. While you are going through it, the early phase of quitting
seems to last forever, but in retrospect, it is only a moment of
discomfort on the road to freedom. Before you know it, you will be like
me, happy as hell that you never, ever have to smoke again. How cool is
that?

Love to all, old friends and new,

Maude

Great to hear from you Maude...
I, (me)(myself) thank you for helping me along the way. I hope I have
the willpower to never smoke again......
It is getting easier to ignore the craves but they are still there and
big and scary...I know I can never have even one more puff...
I think my lungs are getting rid the last remains of my smoking, at
least I hope so, coughing up a lot of nasty crap this past month or so.

Seems like just yesterday I lived for checking in on the computer. We
were all here so often, it's hard to believe we had any life outside of
AS3. Now look at us!

Thanks for accompanying me on this wonderful journey!

Oh, you can do this, Mike. It is not nearly so difficult as other
things you have learned to live in spite of. Being free is worth the
temporary misery and discomfort.

Rock on!

Hang in there, Dave. You will be amazed at how much better your whole
body works once you get rid of all the crap. Laugh in the face of the
craves - believe me, laughter is your best weapon against the Nicodemon.
Have fun. Before you know it, you will just be a boring nonsmoker,
and all the farting, ranting and irrational behavior will be just a fun
memory. Enjoy your quit! It is something of which you can be truly proud!

Rock on!

Hi Maude & everyone on this topic.

I don't post here now but do read here quite a lot and it seems that
Maude and I are just about the same in quitting times. I have been quit
for 4 years & three months so must have been on this NG about the same
time.

I agree with everything Maude has said and you can make it, sure it's
tough at times (I have had my moments but didn't give in mainly due to
severe health reasons) but now over 3 years I am glad manaaged to get
here.

There is also the financial side, ciggys here in Australia are really
expensive (probably same in US & UK).

The only real bad side for me is having put on heaps of weight and I hate
exercise, just out of interest does anyone else have this weight problem?
I would love to discuss this with some of you guys.

Anyway have to go.

Regards

I too have just been stopping by. I have long ago ditched my meter
(my mac was getting too full of music and pictures from my kids) but I
quit in March of 2002. I guess that means 5.5 years. Wow!! Smoking
is what other smelly people do. I enjoy all of my free time more now
than I can remember since College when I began to smoke.

As I hit 50 years young on Monday - I might not have made it had I not
found this group when I was 44-45.

Stay the course. Enjoy the ride and you will succeed.

Congrats Miz Maude!

It's been ages and ages since I have seen you around these parts. Glad
to see that both the doggies and you are quite agile

It sounds like life is going well for you my dear. I am sure Gx sends
her love too, (she is still in Portland.)

The road to freedom appears to be the hot topic for today. I remember
those early days. I thought they would never end...

But they do. Life goes on. You learn and lean on support along this quit
path and you carry on.

Pssst I shot all the Cheshire county red squirrels Maudette - *bye for now.

I will be in Weare, NH this weekend and home sometime on Sunday - I will
try to get out that way on Sunday evening. You should have a fairly good
weekend in bratt with mid 70 weather expected. You might even see some
of the nekkid bratts @ the doggie show

I'm heading off to parts unknown in a few months...Could even be NY.

hugs,
robbster
