.... so far in my quit:
Went to the doctor (wasn't nearly as bad as I thought - just some very
minor diminished breathing).
That, as the days pass, I *need* the gum less and less. I will use the
gum as long as I need it, but my goal is to deep-six it after six weeks.
Went to the dental hygienist. When I told her I quit, she said she was
going to get all the staining off my teeth (does this mean that, for
smokers, she normally wouldn't bother getting it all because their teeth
would just be stained again in a week or so?) Regardless, I said "Thank
you!"
That I am getting a hell of a lot more out of my workouts. I'm up to
thirty minutes on the rowing machine, and that's a tough machine! That's
about 350 calories and major sweat. Good cardio. Smoking, I could never
get past 15 minutes.
That I, my car, my clothes, my porch (the list goes on and on) smell better.
That my sense of taste hasn't really returned yet. I thought that it
would have by now. Anybody have any ideas why not? Maybe it's the gum?
Anyway, no big deal. It sure isn't any worse than when I was smoking.
That non-smokers don't back away an extra foot or so anymore.
That I'm not spending as much money... even beyond what I used to spend
on cigarettes. Maybe no more impulse buying in the convenience store.
That I can go through stressful situations at work, home, or wherever;
and not smoke.

I haven't smoked in 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 2 hours and 49 minutes. The TC and
the taxman didn't get $100.58 of my money. The TC gets to keep 402
sickarettes and I get to live an extra 1 Day, 9 hours and 30 minutes.
