| | | Today's Thought 5.13 "Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You
name them - work, family, health, friends, and spirit - and you're keeping
all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber
ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls -
family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of
these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even
shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive
for balance in your life."

important. Work is work and usually one can find it. But you can't
find the others in the want ads...

Not too long after I got to work this morning one of my co-workers
came over to me looking like she was about to cry. She hugged me and
said, "Thank you." Puzzled, I asked for what. She was thanking me
for having sent your thought above to her. I send them to three
ladies and this one I had noted was especially for her. She is an
only child with elderly parents. Her mom had a heart attack a month
ago along with some repair surgery. She's in a rehab facility about
80 miles from here. Helene has had to handle all the arrangements, be
there for her dad and her mom. She has two young boys of her own and
our job isn't exactly a piece of cake. She's on the board of
directors for the local Salvation Army and does lots of work with the
homeless. She has the best heart imaginable. On top of all that her
husband's nephew committed suicide over the weekend (at least I'd call
a stupid, drunken game of Russian Roulette suicide). As you can tell,
Helene is stretched about as thin as one can get. Your thought was
perfect for her right now. So, I thank you!!

I merely repeat what someone else, much wiser, said. My heart goes out to
your friend.
