Default Today is...What the hell is today?

Okay, today marks day #15 without smoking. The 1st two days I had almost
zero craving and zero urge. I think that is Chantix at it's best. I have
developed a new problem, though! I cannot sleep at night. Let me explain.
At the very beginning of taking Chantix, I was having very VIVID dreams.
The second night, I was having coffee with Jesus Christ!! This is no joke,
and no laughing matter! My dreams became so vivid and weird, that I think
my mind is preventing me from sleeping. The last two nights I went to sleep
at about 11:30 PM but was up, for good, at 1 AM. And now I am so tired.
This is the weekend for Christ sake, and I should be able to sleep in,
right? I am going to be a fucking zombie tomorrow at work.
I am not quitting Chantix...Not yet anyway, but I am thinking one month
might be enough. I am too damn tired to even think. What do you guys say?
Dreams, not sleeping, one month? Too many things for me to think about with
my puny brain.

I didnt quit with Chantix,so have no advice to give. Just wanna offer my
encouragement and support.Have you asked your doctor about what to do about
the sleeplessness?Perhaps cutting out any caffeine earlier in the day might
help some.Congrats on yur 15th day.We are at the same point in our quits!

Right from the website...
At times, certain contraindications and side effect may occur when you take
Chantix. Some of the commonly occurring side effects are:
a.. Nausea
b.. Sleep disorder
c.. Gas
d.. sleeplessness
e.. Constipation
f.. Headache
g.. Loss of taste
Side effects of Chantix with no adverse health implications that are not
mentioned above may occur infrequently or rarely. But talk to your physician
if they occur repeatedly and become bothersome.

Talk to your doctor.

Happy 2W +1
I would say have lots of sex before going to sleep or try another sleep aid.

AZ, you're doing great!

One thing I try when I'm having serious trouble getting to sleep
for a few nights is to have an evening walk, then a nice hot shower
before getting into bed. Sometimes it helps the muscles relax
enough and helps the brain tune out.

Hi Az! I would wonder what your coffee and other caffine habits are
as they might be enhancing the effects from the Chantix and together
causing the insomnia. I was just the opposite. Low energy and I was
sleeping more than the usual beauty sleep amount I try to get. If it
does continue and you've changed any caffine intake and other
stimulents I would suggest you discuss this with your doctor. I felt
personally by the time I finished the first month's script of Chantix
I was over the hump but decided to stick with it after writing the
group here. So, yes, I did do the entire 90 days. But nothing is in
stone. If the 30 days work and you remain quit that is what matters.
Personally, I would suggest you fill the second month's script and
hold onto it for a while as 'insurance' in case you find the cravings
return. I did that with the final month's script until I knew I was
over it. I then sent it to my sister in the hope she'll follow me in
smobriety.

Thanks for all your advice. I think I will fill the second script. I am
not really sure I know if I'm ready to stand alone...yet.
As for the caffeine intake, I have reduced that a lot. It is a big trigger
for smoking, and I just got back to about 2-3 Lattes a day. I used to drink
over 10 of them a day. I am very tired, ALL the damn time. Lack of coffee
and lack of sleep makes you goofy as hell.

I'm a little late, but way to go AZ you are doing really well. I can't help
with the sleeping bit, since I was an oversleeper when I quit.
