A penny saved is ridiculous, and an obvious oversight by the IRS.

Au Contraire, mes Ami! I do stop & pick up pennies in the street
[when there's no traffic] as they do add up in time. Last time I took
all my chump change to the bank, I had over $75 and I expect even more
$$$ the next time I do it. Still, I do think pennies really are
obsolete in practice and need to be eliminated, same with the dollar
bill. Bring back the $2 bill and the dollar coin and it all will make
more sense...

Really!

My husband has a change jar that he drops his coins into.... I have a found
money jar. Its got a couple dollar bills in it and a bunch of change. I
love the found money jar because unlike my husbands spare change jar, all
the money in there is COMPLETELY FREE. I didn't work for it, it wasn't a
gift, it is just FREE! Now granted, his spare change jar holds much more
money than my found money jar, but I love it all the more just the same :-)

Our change really adds up quickly since we have the loonie $1 and the
twoonie $2 and now that it's on par with american money it should go further
esp if you are able to jump over the border and sop up some cheaper gas.(
not that I can but border towns can)

Woo Hoo Lynn! Loonies & Toonies really do make the chump change
rock! I wish we had that sort of money here. My rule of thumb is to
save my quarters for the laundry and all other change goes into the
changebox for that way down the road day...
