Default What a difference a week makes v2

I'm having a much harder week this week.
I think God's grace gave me a gift week last week.
This week I'm being tested.
Last nite the mother in law wigged out.
Tonite the wife wigged out.
Thankfully I've been supplied with tools.
No drink, no smoke.
Nice to come here when the storm calms.
I can't tell what's improving physically.
I think I have even less energy.
I know for a fact my concentration is shot.
Got appt. w/ Dr on Friday.
It's been recommended I do 90 days of this Chantix.
I want a clear head.
That's another 6 weeks.
I guess I can do that.

Everyone's experiences with this quit business are different. The
most important thing is to be patient. OK. *The* most important
thing is to not smoke. Followed by patience. You *will* feel better.
You *will* feel more energetic. You *will* get your concentration
back. The whole process *will* get easier although there will be
occasional bumps in the road. You have over a week done. That's
great!!!!
Be patient. Be strong. Be committed to your quit. And, remember.
There's no such thing as just one.

You can do it David!! You are doing great. The concentration thingy is
ummmmm, yeah, ummmmm.....Brain fog! That's it!!! It sucks. And the
tiredness is very common, your body is healing, so it requires more rest. I
slept a hell of a lot at first when we quit. Is totally normal, hon.

Yeah. Sleep I'm headed there now.
Day 10 starts in 7 minutes.
Wife still clueless.
Bitched about my smoking just this evening.
Kids and coworkers haven't caught on either.
Can't wait to tell Dr. though.
I hate having to look at the floor and admit, "yeah, I'm still
smoking."

Keep doing what your doing Dave. I found early in my quit for me at any
rate letting things slide a little and not getting so wound up helped. I
just kept thinking "bollocks I don't have to deal with that now I'll do
it later" Your quit is the most important thing IMHO you have to look
after yourself and your quit.

David,
I'm sorry you're having a rough week. Quitting something that you've
been doing 20+ times a day for umpteen years is, by definition, an
IMMENSE lifestyle change and will cause real upheaval in your life. But
a.) it will pass
b.) smoking will not make it *better*
c.) it IS worth it

Ok. MIL wigged out. Wife wigged out. *You* didn't smoke. In my book, you
are already a success story. Keep up the good quit and keep reading and
posting. AS3 is truly an island of sanity in the mad ocean of tobacco
addiction. Stay on shore with us and survive. Hmmm... not sure if that
metaphor works but... you get the picture

We are rooting for you!

That helped me too, and putting off everything that didn't need to be done
right away. I just did the things that were absolutely necessary and I said
no to all the people who wanted this or that. They had to do without my
help for a few months.

Sorry you're having a tough week David. If I could, would give you
version 1. I kind of think I'm getting the benefits of knowledge
learned in my previous quits. Nice to know all I went through a
couple times before may not have been for nothing.

One thing I can promise you, if you hang tough and don't puff, it
WILL get better and better and better and even GREAT !!!!

You are doing it my friend !!!

David, what you are going through is very typical for the early part
of the quit. I had a huge amount of brain fog in the beginning but
over time it lifted until it finally cleared up. Send your wife & MIL
over to 14th Street here for wigs since they seem to have that need,
but no way smoke! You are doing well and it does get better and
better.

Hang in there, David.
Deeep breaths. Deeeeeeeep breaths.
When things get hectic for me, I stop and tell myself: "Hey, the only
thing you really HAVE to do right this second is ... breathe."
Sometimes it even works, LOL.
