Default What a Wonderful Day!!

I just have to tell you all that having Edna Pearl as a houseguest is
absolutely wonderful! Last night we sat and visited and got to know each
other. We had a great time. Today, Steve and I took EP out to show her the
sights.

We toured the Mendel Art Gallery, and Edna loved the information about Joni
Mitchell who happens to be from Saskatoon. It was nice to have someone who
has travelled the world tell us how much she enjoys our little city, as a
lot of times, we wonder how we would rate. Next we went on a drive along
the river and admired the different architecture and oohed and ahhed over
the beautiful leaves changing all over the city. After walking around the
hot museum, we all wanted a drink, so we headed out of town to a little gem
of a place hidden right on the edge of the South Saskatchewan River. It's
called The Berry Barn. We enjoyed a late lunch sitting in the window
watching the river roll by. It was so peaceful! Edna Pearl had her first
taste of Saskatoon Berries, in perogy form, and fell in love!

We've decided that we'd like to keep her, and we may just do that! We've
taken pictures and will eventually get them to Jef so he can put together a
little bit about our meet.

Its been said a million times, and I am saying it again anyway. Getting the
chance to meet someone from AS3 in real life is an absolutely amazing
experience, and if you have the chance, grab it for all its worth! The
enjoyment of meeting fellow quitters is just the best!

Well off to have a steak supper and some beverages.......more updates later!

Sarah, Steve, Nick and Edna!

I am having the best time! Steve, Sarah, and Nick are just so
beautiful, and best possible hosts. In addition to the adventures
today that Sarah has already described, when I complained about my
back hurting from so much driving, Sarah actually took me to a
chiropractor she knows! I feel so much better for it.

And then we drove home under an autumn prairie sunset.

And the steaks on the grill are smelling really good . . . .

ep oooooooof

According to Edna, they were wonderful. Alas, I had a head cold and
couldn't taste a damn thing. Steve will take me out there next weekend so I
can taste them as well. Mmmmmm. The only thing we missed seeing that I
would have liked to was the Ukrainian Museum, but it is closed on Mondays.

Hmmmm, I haven't heard of a sugar berry. Here's a link to Saskatoon
berries.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saskatoon_berry

They don't really have seeds in them, I know that to start them, we have to
buy them as seedlings. I will see what I can find for you Lynnie! You'll
have to email me your addy so I can mail you some!!
