There are people who smoke cigarettes that have chosen to accept smoking as
their way of life. They have come to believe that to quit is too difficult.
They understand that with all the negatives, the cure is worse than the
sickness.
At which point does this decision occur? It's an ongoing process. People don't
begin to smoke with the belief they will never be able to quit. They ignore
the people they've known who die from the obvious effects of smoking. The
warnings don't matter.
It is truly a selfish decision. It is a "leave me alone" attitude. "I don't
care".
Once a person begins to explore the root of this selfishness they will
realize that they are only protecting the addiction. Like all addictions,
there is shame that has to be dealt with.
Pride will keep the smoker from quitting and the quitter from smoking!
Please realize that we know how you feel.

Don't ever forget why you quit.
