Default Without the gum and good news

It's been really interesting today without the gum. It's almost as if
it's more difficult going from gum to no gum than it was going from
smoking to the gum. Go figure! Mike, I tried the Cinnamon Altoids but
they don't do it for me. What is working is this Fire Cinnamon gum. Chew
it and park it.

I had other really good news today. Had a follow-up with he doctor.
Turns out the minor COPD probably isn't even COPD because doc said my
lungs are improving. She can't hear what she heard before and she wants
me to have x-rays again in six months or so. She did warn me though that
if I started smoking again, all bets were off. No sweat doc... I'm with
ya. BP was way down too... 102/68. Feeling good but most of all, feeling
grateful.

I have not smoked since 7/8/2007 2:30 PM. That's 58 days! I have not
used any nicotine at all since 9/03/2007.

I'm with you on this "most of all, feeling grateful. "
I still can't believe I don't have a pack of cigarettes in my pocket.

Your lungs are improving? That is great news. Stay strong,
Robin.

Phil. I think it would be wise if you asked your doctor for a
Spirometry Breathing test. That shows the amount of air you can expell
in one second. If you can not then that shows that you do have COPD
and it is not curable. But you can keep it under control if you do the
proper things. The sooner you find out the better. There are some good
medications you can get that will surely help you. Depending on how
bad you are. Also it's good to find out what exercises you can do.
There are a number of good ones. They strengthen the lungs, and the
diaphram under the lungs. This you want to keep as supple as you can.
Good luck.
