| | | Workin' on day two here OK, day one wasn't that bad. The $hantex helps a lot but its not a miracle
drug.
I just glanced over to the left. There's a lighter on my desk. Where the
hell did that come from? BRB, I gotta get rid of it.
K, I'm back.
I have a lot of important things to get done today but I can't remember what
they are. I wrote a list but I don't know where I put it. Frankly, I don't
give a shit.
I have an interesting story here:
My main reason to quit was that I wanted to find a girlfriend, and there
didn't seem to be a lot of available women who smoke in the places I was
looking. So, I schlep myself to the doctor, get the scrip for chantix, set a
quit date, yada yada. In the meantime I meet this wonderful woman who
smokes, we like each other a lot, we're seeing each other every day... and
there I was taking Chantix getting ready to quit. WTF.
I put my quit off for a few days and thought about it, while continuing to
take the pills. There are a lot of good reasons to quit smoking. Personally,
I see that smoking is ruining my health. I can't run ten/fifteen miles or
climb a large mountain without running out of breath. I can hardly lift a
car anymore, much less a truck -- and you know, cars and trucks don't weigh
what they used to. You get my drift -- not what I used to be.
So, I went through with the quit. That magical horniness thing you get a few
weeks after you quit will probably kick-in at just the right time in the
relationship, and if she smokes or not, or if she and I make it for the long
haul or not, has absolutely nothing the fuck to do with whether or not I
smoke.
That's my story. Hope you liked it. Catch ya' later. |

"My main reason to quit was that I wanted to find a girlfriend"
Throw that idea away.
You don't find them, they find you.

| | | Re: Workin' on day two here Mike! You are doing great and staying focused which is what matters.
Yes, it is ironic that you meet someone who smokes right when you have
decided to quit. Well, DO NOT LET HER SMOKING be a factor to give up
your quit. You have to be focused and know you are quitting for
yourself. I quit and my BF has not done so and it's been 6 months.
Do I like that he still smokes. Hell NO! But I know that I am not
about to pick up again just because he is still smoking. Hang Tuff!
Don't Puff!! It does get better!

Congratulations on making the right decision!
