Did you make it hurt when you poked out her eyes and poured salt in
the holes?? I hope so. You use the lozenges for as long as you need
to honey, I need you to keep quit, cos I love you too much to let you
go!
Oh and can I come to the funeral and laugh hysterically with you?? I
need some fun in my life!
hugs and kisses

You have to do what you want. If you think you still need the NRT use em.
I over used NRT and ended up with a strong quit. I stopped the NRT when
I was ready.
Listen to yourself Becky it's your quit, no one else's.

each one of them (gum, patch, Zyban) my body just quit reminding me to
take/apply/use them. It just happened naturally. Just my expereience.

I immediately thought of this joke:
A husband was in big trouble when he forgot his wedding anniversary.
His wife told him, "Tomorrow there had better be something in the
driveway for me that goes zero to 200 in 2 seconds flat". The next
morning the wife found a small package in the driveway. She opened it
and found a brand new bathroom scale. Funeral arrangements for the
husband have been set for Saturday.
I nominate Becky as the new head of the AS3 BDU. Go, Becky!
Cheers,

LOL. That's funny!!! Is your AA sponsor a reformed smoker? Does s/he
know exactly what quitting smoking is all about?

The one where I told you to take the week off and get rid of the
lozenges.
That aside, can someone explain me in plain English why are they
called lozenges and not candy? What does "lozenge" mean anyway? I'm
honestly confused here.

Tihomir,
I think the nuance is that "Lozenge," as opposed to "candy," implies a
medicinal purpose or even a medicinal ingredient. Before the nicotine
lozenge came out, the only lozenges that I ever heard of were "throat
lozenges," for soothing a sore throat. I'm sure that some throat lozenges
would qualify as candy (Ludens Cherry, for example), and some candies could
be used as lozenges (Lemon drops, for example), but not all lozenges are
candies (Fisherman's Friend, for example) and not all candies are lozenges
(Kit Kats, for example). Plus, I suspect that the people who named the
nicotine lozenges "lozenges," were probably aware that "nicotine candy"
would not go over so well in the marketplace, with the implications that
they would be marketed to kids.
That's my take, anyway. Does that help at all?
Jaime
I have achieved six months, three weeks, four days, 16 hours, 44 minutes and
46 seconds, of smoke-free living (and, with it, rather aggressive driving).
This amounts to 6200 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,472.42, and adding 3
weeks, 12 hours, 40 minutes to my fabulous life. |

Thank you Jaime! this is exactlyx th ekinf of insight I was looking
for! I think that part od the misunderstanding comes from the fact
that I am trying to translate the term "bombon" that in most of Europe
is used as the term for hard candy, usually transparent and colored,
as "candy", which is of course wrong. For "candy" I am using "sweets".
"Drops" is also a term that is often used but I am not sure of the
scope of the word.
Yes, nico candy would definitely sound silly :-)
