Can social media help people globally to network and discuss their medical conditions
I believe so!
I think the social side of illnesses and people suffering from conditions go ignored. As I continue to suffer with my weight, I know first-hand how difficult it can be to deal with an illness without that all-essential support from real people who truly understand. So I began to search online for the answers to my questions, trying to find real people who suffer from what I do, and came across social-medicine.org
Social-medicine.org looks to socialise, discuss, and communicate with others suffering from various illnesses on a global scale. It’s the Facebook for every illness, with the ability to create profiles, make friends write on walls, upload photos and videos. Social-medicine.org is social, fun and a relaxed way to learn and share information about illnesses. As its name might suggest in Social-medicine.org, the site aims to put the ‘social’ back into all things medicine. The site connects people and has all the usual social networking features and functionality.
For medical advice of your condition from real people that suffer with similar symptoms, visit the communities found in social-medicine.org.
Let me know what you think....
