Popular Venice Beach steakhouse American Beauty is expanding beyond the Westside with a new location in the former Wood Ranch space at the Grove slated to open this fall. The original location was opened by partners Paul Hibler and Jeff Goodman of American Gonzo Food Corp and Bruce Horwitz of the Tasting Kitchen in late 2019 along the beach enclave’s vibrant Rose Avenue. American Beauty will also bring its restaurant within a restaurant, the Window, to the new location by adding a smash burger window on the south side of the restaurant.
Acclaimed design firm Frederick Fisher and Partners will lead the revamp of the 6,500-square-foot interior and attached patio. Similar to the Venice location, the restaurant at the Grove will also be centered around a large horseshoe bar and offer spaces for private and semi-private parties.
Like at its Venice location, the menu at the second American Beauty will be led by chefs Elisha Ben-Haim and Evan Hickey and will focus on offering a wide range of prime and dry-aged steak sourced from farms like Santa Carota, Creekstone Farms, and Flannery Beef. Expect cuts like a New York strip, a rib-eye, a hanger steak, and more. In addition to steak, the menu will also feature local seafood and produce. Sides like a stuffed hash brown, a wood-grilled lobster tail, and French fries will also be available to pair with the steaks.
While the Venice location of American Beauty only offers dinner, the Grove location will also be open for lunch and brunch. Ben-Haim and Hickey are developing dishes for those menus that reflect the same local produce-driven ethos of the dinner menu. A full bar will also be available at the new location, as will additions to the substantial wine menu, which currently features over 200 bottles.
American Beauty at the Grove is slated to open in late fall 2024 and is located at 189 the Grove Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
