Sort of flyes. Probably dumbbell, but maybe pec-dec.
Or pull-overs, maybe? I don't know.

Looks like classic no-nonsense bodybuilding routine. On back day
I would do pull-ups or pull-downs. Thanks for posting. I had some
fun deciphering it.

Lateral raise and front presses?

StairMaster?

Yeah, you have to quit.

No, i am just fucking with you.

Its kinda weird that you dont know the English terminology for the
exercises.

In every gym i went, a row is called a row, a fly a fly, a press a press and
a squat a squat.

Hmmm.

You didnt seem to have much trouble with the terminology used.

For some reason i assumed he was from Holland...

I'd guess pullover.

Delts and shoulders.

Or military press or whatever.

Front raise it is. Could it also be an upright row? But if he's calling a
side raise a side lift, it probably is a front raise.

I don't think it's that, or Pete's suggestion of a stairmaster; those are
both cardio exercises, and Bjoern is talking about doing sets of reps,
which suggests weights. Plus, stairmaster is hardly a back exercise,
unless you're talking about your backside.

Rather, i'd guess he means pullups or chinups. I think "climb trains"
means "an exercise you do to train for climbing", and that certainly fits.
Plus, it's an obvious back exercise he doesn't list elsewhere.

>> what do you think about it ?

Too many isolations, and too much redundancy - i'd drop the raises and do
upright rows, drop the triceps kickback and do dips, probably drop the
shrugs altogether, not bother doing both types of rows, and so something
for my hamstrings (Romanian deadlifts, probably). But what do i know.

Oh, that's just because I'm so incredibly bright. Nothing special. ;-)

I've no idea.

You got a clue. :-)

Yes, you do have a clue. I should have thought about it myself.

One can grow both ways. I prefer big lifts, but isolation exercises
have the advantage of sparing your CNS. One can reach failure more
often and recover from it fine. People who train a body part once a
week actually need isolation exercises to grow. One needs plenty of
intensity to stimulate muscle hard enough to justify 7 days of rest,
and it's much easier to train to failure on leg extension than on
squats. Actually for strong guys with loads of muscle mass isolation
exercises might be the only option of training to failure on a regular
basis.

Would a program based on frequency and compound lifts work better? I
think so, but I'm not sure. For me it works better, because I don't
like isolation exercises.

Not bad. I don't train this way, but you are not me, so if you like it
like that, go for it.
