Default Anyone here have a ruptured disc?

I was just diganosed with one... I think the doc called it degenerative disc
diseases (which really is a misnomer) and ostroarthritis.

I'm still deading and squatting, but damn is my lower back stiff the next
day. The usual advils and muscle relaxants help, but not a heck of a lot.
Stretching is an effective but temporary relief. Sitting for long periods of
time is the worst.

Thoughts from anyone with this condition?

Thanks all.

Brad

How about thoughts from anyone who has suffered from that
aforementioned, "but damn is my lower back stiff the next day"?

Switch up your routine.

You say you're still deadlifting and squatting. Why not drop the deads
and change over to leg presses for six weeks?

How old are you? I suspect pain or at least aching is something you're
only going to become more familiar with as the years literally fly by.
;o)

Welcome to the club. Enjoy your too brief stay.

Read my story on my web site - happy to discuss with you after that, no
need to rehash the details here again. Consider reading on the subject
as well. Robin McKenzie and Stuart McGill are authors I recommend, also
John E. Sarno.

I have congenitally fused discs in my neck -- 5 and 6. My neck is stiff as hell
all the time. Chiropractic hasn't helped, so I just got steroid injections in
the discs. Don't know yet if it's going to help, but it sure was a miserable
two days afterward.

Oh, I agree, the stay is all too brief.

I'm 38, but feel 28. Like to think I look 28 too. lol.

I have read that the brutal pain actually decreases with age. Simply, as
your spine fossilizes with age, the discs shrink and harden. This then puts
less pressure on the nerves around it. Something to look forward to eh? lol
