Default asked to give time or money for charity at the gym?

Hi. I'm a journalist working on a story for a major national newspaper;
it's about the trend of gyms asking for money, clothing donations,
volunteer work, sign-ups to run in charity races, etc. It seems that
gyms mobilizing members for this kind of thing is on the rise, and I'm
wondering if anyone feels offput by this? Many people come to the gym
to get away from it all and don't want to be bothered with this type of
thing. Thanks for emailing me at womeninoverdrive@gmail.com.

Warmly,
Nora
