| | | Been gone three years This site has sure changed a lot in the last few years while I was gone.
Lots of new faces and ideas. I hung out here a few years while I worked out
at "Gold's" and then "24 Hour Fitness". Maybe some of you will remember me!
I still do three a week, one and a half hours and push some big weights.
Cycle two days a week about an hour with a 66 cadence.
I'm 65 5'.9" #260 and a diabetic with a 5.6 for the last four years. It's
"do or die" so I do.
I'm retired now and living in the Philippines, I workout with the former
"Mr. Philippines" and former coach of the Philippine team.
I'll hang around awhile and see how the group is going, maybe I can find
something that will help me, and maybe I can help someone.

Hmmm, always great to have someone from the Golden Age of MFW around!
It should be very interesting to hear your opinions on things. But

Nothing much, I'm retired, you do it!
Just watching like I said I may pickup something.
I push the iron three days a week, not much more to say.

I'm lucky; I married a retired Pilipino banker in the states when moved here
after a few years. She had a nice house in a nice area.
I can't drink because on my meds so that works out nice. I have a "Very
Little" 4x4 pickup and a van so we get around.
BUT, it's hard; my ways are not always their ways. The internet and gym are
my out lets. I swim, snorkel and surf on the east coast a lot also.

Special Forces adage -- they are taught to think of themselves, during
SERE training (Survival Evasion Rescue Escape), not as prisoners *of*
war but prisoners *at* war.
No, I'm no Green Beret. Was only ever a PFC, but I've seen these guys
from afar and I've always been impressed with the idea of never giving
up. I find myself so at odds with the world that, when casting about
for a new e-mail addy (since posting to usenet eventually destroys an
account with spam), I thought this would be a good reminder to myself
of the first principle of life: never give up. |

Ah, okay, semantics -- saying "maybe I'll find something" could sound
like you were looking for something, which is why I'd asked.
Sounds like you've got great workout partners. I think more than
overtraining, nutrition, or sleep, the biggest factor in my
performance plateau has been the lack of a workout partner. Luckily,
there's someone now who might fit the bill; I'll see how that works
out. So it's great that you're training with some real pros! I'd be
especially curious to hear what you know of their impressions on
various matters of weightlifting and bodybuilding. |

In all seriousness man, ignore this sad little troll. He is just another of
the millions of anonymous cowards who don't even work out, but talk shit and
lie about themselves all day. It is good to see a diabetic who takes his
condition seriously. I spent 8.5 years on dialysis, so I know a lot of
people who did not take their diets seriously and ended up ruining their
kidneys and or going blind.
Take care

I had a kidney transplant in Oct. of 98. I had some real morons for MDs at
the beginning who steered me away from getting a transplant as they made
more money keeping patients on dialysis. They told me all sorts of horror
stories about the anti rejection meds etc. I did not even get on the list
for 5 years. After that, I waited the exact average for an Blood type O
positive kidney in Phoenix, which was 2.5 years. In hind site, I would have
been placed on the list the second I knew my kidneys were shot. The only
problems I have had from the meds are that I get some bad cystic type acne
on occasion on my face and I get Pneumonia about once/year, but other than
that, I feel fantastic. If you saw me, you would never know anything ever
happened to me. I competed initially as a middleweight and then a lightheavy
and was 240 at my heaviest at 5'10". I have a really small bone structure,
so I always looked much heavier than I was. I am about 185 right now and
wear 28" jeans. I don't look like I did in the B&W, but I am not too far
off: ;-) http://www.rustyiron.net/rschuh.htm
BTW, in case you were wondering, the disease I had was called FSGS or Focal
Segmental Glomerulosclerosis They have no idea how I got it. It is reaching
very high #s now in late 20s to early 30s athletic black males. I was the
right age and athletic, but the wrong color. :-) 2 guys in the NBA had the
disease and it is the same disease the did in Flex Wheeler's kidneys. My use
of Anabolic Steroids had nothing to do with it. People everywhere have to
let their loved ones know that they want to be organ donors. My kidney came
from a cadaver donor. Thousands of people die every day because there are
not enough organs being donated. It is such a shame that so many viable
organs get buried or cremated every day when they could be saving the lives
of thousands of people.

Fifty five pounds is not too far off huh. And that includes the 15

Yeah let's violate people's religious beliefs so we can keep you
