Default Bowflex revolution home gym - some questions

Hi there

I am looking to get some fitness equipment for home - spare room in a
new build house here in the UK - so in other words a small room.

So - no space for dumbells, frames etc.

Looking to get a useful home gym and thinking about the Bowflex
Revolution...

Got a few questions...

a) Anyone else used this piece of kit - if so - comments?

b) Does anyone know any other home gyms that have a cardio feature
(Bowflex has rowing) - I do not have space for a stepper or what have
you as well as a multi-gym.

c) I live in the UK - anyone know of any dealers here that sell the
Bowflex Revolution?

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers

RC

Sorry RC, did you have a typo here? Did you mean to say "piece of shit"? as
you said "kit" by mistake

If you have made up your mind to buy this "piece of kit" why are you asking
for advice?

Hiya

This is the top of the list because I have not been able to find any
other home gym with cardio capability - and also trying to get any
feedback from anyone who has used this piece of equipment

Jeez.

You can do bodyweight exercise for cardio anytime you want. Check out
the Royal Court, the Naked Warrior and things like that. A set of
adjustable dumbbells takes up virtually no space. Personally, I would
think of buying a 10#, 25#, 40#, 60#, 90# and 120# hex dumbbell - just
one of each - and you could do a great unilateral workout.

The bowlflex is better than nothing. But if a person were to simply
educate themselves a little bit you could use no equipment and get a
great workout in that space.

Bowflex is not a good machine for many reasons - mainly the system of
resistance is dreadful - so many reports of rods breaking - you can't
increment properly - I have never used it but suspect the biomechanics are
poor from what others say - this ng has reams about bowflex if you are
interested. Forget about rowing for cardio - you would need a dedicated
rowing machine to hope to have a decent cardio workout - and rowing is
probably the worst choice if you are reasonably deconditioned to get a
cardio workout with

You are just making wrong choices and sucked in by the hype - the guy with
the 6 pack didnt use bowflex I guarantee it

Get a dumbbell or two. Rack of dumbbells, if you want to spend some
money, but a pair of adjustable dumbbells will do fine.

Get a barbell too, if you have that much space.

No? How come?

I have a bridge in New York in good condition. I may be convinced to
sell it, if someone promised to take good care after it. I'm attached
to this piece of rust, you know.

I could sell you a premium quality jumping rope for only $300, but if
you buy my bridge you could simply run there, so it would save you $200
expense for premium jumping rope.

Rent a step on a staircase somewhere in you neighborhood. Tell where
you live. I may have a friend living in your vicinity and he might be
able to rent a step on his staircase for you.

Impossible. Brits are smart.

Ask Google.

Seriously - Get a single dumbbell and I'll write you a routine. In the
meantime do calisthenics consisting of hindu squats, hindu pushups and a
wrestler's bridge. Add burpees and lying bicycle maneuver if you feel
like.

Uh , . . . . . about that bridge . . . . would you take an offer?? Look,

And you're done.

Although to be honest, if you're seriously considering buying a Bowflex,
you probably have more serious problems than fitness.

in and I have my own Jumping rope I keep it with the Mexican Jumping beans.

You guys call my bluff. I can't sell anything and I'm totally worthless
when it comes to money. You can have this bridge for free. Now, can we
talk about something interesting, like the number of angels on a pin
point?

One of them will be financial problems. It costs a LOT of money to put all
them infomercials on, send out all those "free" DVDs, give away color
laminated brocures, and pay models to lie and say they got their physiques
using bowflex. All of that is overhead. I would guestimate 99% of what you
are paying for a bow flex is that stuff, the other 1% is for the machine you
overpaid for.

Not me, but Aquinas did have some. Actually he wondered if several
Angels could occupy the same spot, and he supposedly come to the
conclusion, that no.

But debating the number of Angels on a pin point is a proverbially
pointless academic discussion ever since.

Andrzej, I have been giving this a lot of thought. If you had 6 relatively
slim angels and a pin head somewhat wider than the average - I reckon you
could get them on it. It would not be very comfortable and they probably
could not stay there for very long - but look, these are angels, they could
handle it I'm sure

Well, duh. That's just the Pauli exclusion principle. But that requires
that angels are fermionic, which they might not be.

"Angel physics has until now mainly employed theological methods, but as
this paper shows, modern information physics, quantum gravity and
relativity theory provide powerful tools for exploring the dynamics and
statics of angels."

*I* should have thought about it! I'm officially jealous.

It all depends how they spin. It would be easy to tell if we could
freeze an angel.

These are dancing angels. See

and look for Elizabeth and her bottle. Then go to

and decide for yourself :-)
