Looking at amazon, I foudn reviews saying how it snapped, in 2 weeks,e

Can someone recommend me a good brand that has the feature to adjust
length? Local sport stores do nto have good selection.

Should I get seppd rope or speed weight jump rope? I will be using it
primarily during weight lifting (free weight) at home.

BTWis bodyfit a good brand? The store near me says that they have
speed rope as well as beaded one. The manager sids beaded one will
last longer but I don't like appearance of beads. Beside, I want
speed ope; I think beadaed oen would put be weighted, right?

Here is GoFit Speed Rope - 9' Adjustable on their website with 2
revies.

great
By FC from College Station, Texas on 5/17/2007
Pros:Great feel, Doesn't tangle up, Sturdy
Cons:None
Best Uses:Boxing, Martial Arts, Fitness, Training
Describe Yourself:Trainer, Competitive Athlete
Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This jump rope has the best "feel" of any rope I've used. It has great
grips with bearings inside that allow the rope to rotate easily and
doesn't tanle up like the linked plastic ones. I think that it easily
beats the all leather ropes as far as endurance as well. I've had my
rope over 6 years and have only put a little lubricating oil in the
bearings because I left it outside and the rain caused some rust to
develop in the bearings.

This is the best jump ...
By Alex A from georgia on 2/19/2007

This is the best jump rope I have ever had. It is so sturdy and
reliable. I have had the same on for five years and its still in great
shape. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who like to
jump rope and for people who box.

You probably want the speed rope, not the beaded one, and bodyfit is a
perfectly acceptable brand. You could probably shop around forever and
find a similar rope for slightly less, but it is not like a jump rope is
a huge investment.

A 9 foot rope is going to be too long for a petite female, but you can
always cut it to size. Ross Enamait has a pair of excellent articles on
starting to jump rope, including information on choosing and sizing a
rope.

i am not very familiar with the BodyFit or GoFit brands, but hat looks
like a jump rope i have. It should do just fine for a starter rope. (i
got mine at either Wal-Mart or Academy, i do not remember the exact
brand, if it had one.)

The beads usually do not add much weight, possibly in part because they
allow for a lighter rope to be used. The beaded ropes are intended for
kids to use on playgrounds, on sidewalks, or in the street. The beads
protect the rope from rough those surfaces. If You are going to be using
the rope on a rough surface, the beaded rope will last longer. However,
those surface are not ideal for jump rope training. It would be better
to find a smoother surface like a hardwood floor, a mat, a carpeted area,
a level grassy area, or even the level dirt areas at a baseball field.

Go with the a speed rope. The weighted rope can be difficult and
potentially dangerous for beginners, and i am not sure it provides much
advantage (it might).

If You are just starting out, a basic speed should be just fine. If they
do not haves 'Jr.s' size or an adjustable one, that is not to much a
problem, just tie knots in the rope near the handles. That may not be
ideal, but works well enough most of the time. You should be able to
find a suitable speed rope for less (or not much more) than $10 at a
local shop, even a Wal-Mart. How long it lasts depends on several
factors. For instance, using it on a rough surface like concrete or
asphalt will significantly reduce the life of the rope.

If Want to progress beyond what a basic speed rope can provide for You,
try checking out something like the ropes here:
http://www.buddyleejumpropes.com/
Those ropes are adjustable, and will allow for much greater speed than a
regular speed rope, but for a beginner, a plain speed rope will do just
as well. The Junior Speed Rope is supposed to be a good size for kids
and petite adults.

Buddy Lee also has some good guides on how to integrate jump-rope
training into various programs.
