Ask your surgeon - after all, once he gets his work done, it becomes
'his' neck, not yours (just like my hips are now my surgeon's hips
after he did the bilateral joint replacement surgeries)

C5-6 fusion. My neck is stronger now than it was before. No big issues.
And no more headaches making me want to slam my head into the gym walls.
And it does insure that I hold the bar in the proper position when doing
squats, up too high and it hurts. Other than that, de nada.
