the standard here has fallen since the days of Lysis etc. In other words he
is not happy. Not at all. He would like to see some indication that he is
not simply wasting his time here. Put simply, he feels exsanguinous.
My opinion is that this group is not worthy of a man of his stature and
intellect not to mention his overwhelming perspicacity.

I will try to persuade him to come back here. I am not promising anything
though - he is not happy . . . not at all. |

There is some truth in all you say, no truth in parts of what you say
and whole truth in just one of thing you say.
This is a complete change from your normal input, which varies from
mildly eccentric to total bollocks.
I note that in my absence over the holiday period, that you have
become somewhat despotic concerning the activities of the Humour
Committee, under the inspired direction of The Chairman.
I issue formal instructions to all concerned that your input over what
must have been for you a drunken frenzy, falls heavily into the "total
bollocks" level of your input and as a consequence should be ignored.
I have returned to work today in a most reluctant way. I am not
feeling too well as the result of extended over-indulgence. My liver
is not too happy with me; I have 21 pounds in weight to lose before
Easter; I have started a strict diet, and attend the gym today for the
first time in a fortnight.
All in all I am not in the best of humour, but still have enough
inherent good manners to wish you, and all mankind, a Happy New Year!
;o)
Other than that, with nothing much to which to look forward, until
that bag of shite posing as my stomach disappears and my digestion
sorts itself out, I would be grateful if you would drop the bonhomie
until I regain my sense of humour.
The Group appears to be unusually oversubscribed with cross-posting
twats, but otherwise suitably muted.
Ugh! It's Wednesday! ;o( |

I understand that his computer crashed...
He'll be up and running as soon as he can.
Nice try tho'. ;-)

Wednesday is better than Monday. ;-)
Cheers sir and Happy New Year!
Clear the digestion out with a 3 day juice diet.
Fortunately, I did not over-indulge (much) except for the New Years
party, but other than that it's all good.......

I guess you caught me out Om. But I meant well - I think it is obvious that
Charles was overindulging somewhat and as we say here he may have been on a
'bender'. Which is another way if saying that he was 'drunk as a skunk'.

Not this week it isn't!
However, as usual, I felt great after my workout, which surprisingly
was not too difficult and I picked up pretty much where I left off two
weeks ago.

You can't throw heavy things about on "juice" Om, but I have been
doing this for years (yo-yo dieting) and have a training and diet
routine that works for me.
Basically, it's a strict low-calorie controlled intake regime, that
allows me enough energy to workout five days a week, do a good
strength routine MWF, CV only on TT, minimise/negate LBM loss and most
importantly - lose weight!!

I had the most extravagant time, partied almost without let-up and
thoroughly enjoyed myself in some wonderful company! ;o)
I'm now on the wagon until I go skiing at the end of the month, when I
shall après-ski in a most modest manner as I use the skiing break as
part of my annual 'rehabilitation'. |

That is true and I would never even attempt to deny it. But *I* don't have a
drinking problem. I drink. I fall over. I get up again. See . .no problem! |

Bloody well nothing wrong with that... That's what New Years is for. ;-)
I did drink but did not get smashed. I just don't like feeling that way.

I'm with you Om - the food is the key - sure enjoy a good wine or scotch but
drinking to excess is just dumb in my opinion - you feel like crap and what

In fact my hate list - includes spics, ragheads, catholics, protestants, in
fact all religious people, aboriginals, indians (all varieties) most asians,
right wing, left wing, most conservative and middle of the road types - I am
irritated by academics as well as low income types, also don't much like the
very rich - middle class people bore the crap out of me - slobby people,
(plus have no time for skinny people ) - bodybuilders make me want to puke .
.. . the list goes on |

I took pics of the "spread". Will post them eventually.
I made three cheese logs, one with black olive, one with green olive and
one with some red Romanoff caviar. They also served a baked spiral cut
ham and various other fun stuff.
For some odd reason tho', I failed to appreciate that $250.00 magnum of
French Champagne that the son brought. He works in the wine industry so
has access to wholesale expensive stuff. He did not pay that price for
it.
I loathe french wines for the most part and this was no exception.
Tasted like a mix of creosote and kerosene. <shudder>
I'll stick with Ballatoire spumante thank you!
That and the many Australian wines that are appearing on the market
lately. Some truly fine offerings! So far my favorite is "the Little
Penguin" Merlot. Very nice! The "Yellow Tail" products are not bad
either.
Om -> not a fan of expensive wines...... sorry!

Disinhibition is not quite the same thing as incoherent inebriation...
