Default Christmas Nice Week

"Burr" <> I'll post about my workouts from time to time even if I get some
smart ass

I actually work in a gym (one of my jobs), so I often make smart-ass remarks
from the jaded point of view of someone who sees the gym crowd for several
hours at a time.

Even though some of my remarks can be considered trolling, I have tried to
be a lot more friendly about these things. I started visiting the usenet
around 1998-99 when there were a lot of flame wars and when people ripping
each other was an art form. It is hard to be normal, but I try to think of
the others in this usenet as real people that I might meet and who I would
not speak to in the same manner in person.

On the other hand, sometimes it gets really boring if everyone is friendly.
So I try to be somewhat smart without going back to the roots of flame-war
remarks. It is not easy being human on the internet. Sorry if I have
offended you.

Since this is Christmas week, I vote that we all try to be nice to each
other for one week, and give it a shot. Maybe if there was less flaming
there would be more participants?

Happy Holidays,

All My Personalities
Teddy, Frank, Jose, Al, Ramon, Joe, Rod, Hank, Smithers, etc.

I'd like to be a personal trainer. That would be so cool! But it
seems a bit like being a hairstylist, you know, with an address book
of clients...IOW, "political" ass-kissin' stuff...not to mention free-
lance work, really....

Truth to tell, most everyone is "trolling"...like looking for fish,
for a bite, a response.

I don't know, I don't see what's "boring" about being "friendly"...I
don't even think in those terms, I'm not here to be entertained or to
make friends -- or to prove some point or other (otherwise, I'd use my
real name, after all) -- but I'm here to discuss
"ideas"...entertainment is incidental to my main goal here: putting
thoughts out there and getting responses.

I always remember Lenny Bruce's advice, remarking of the FCC: if they
don't get it, fuck 'em.

What the fuck is Christmas Week, is that like Kwanzaa for white people
or something?? Ain't no excuse to slack off, in or out of the gym....
