Hey Dick, you made enough money, go spend some time with your family before
you die. |

I never was a big fan of Dick Clark, but anyone that saw that show tonight
and was not creeped out has ice-cold blood.
I remember Guy Lombardo Orchestra when they used to do the New Year's Eve
shows and they were all in their 70s and then Guy died and his brother Don
took over for a few years. Those guys looked a lot better than Dick Clark.
I am sorry for DC's disability, as there are many who suffer strokes. God
Bless them all. However, DC is around 80 years old, had a major stroke, and
you would think he has made enough money and has family and would want to be
remembered as he was...?? |

It would have been appropriate, from my perspective at least, for him
to make a final appearance just to show that his stroke hadn't killed
him. It was almost painful watching him last year. Glad I didn't see
him, uh, perform this year.
At this point he should bow out gracefully and just soak up some sun
quietly. Listen to music. Have his grandchildren read to him? Doesn't
the guy have hobbies?
If you were a former world class sprinter, would you participate in a
local fun run if you had a stroke? I suppose it would be acceptable,
but what a downer for your audience. Those fans who saw you perform on
a superhuman level.
So is he performing for himself or for his audience? Is it acceptable?
Do people tune in simply to see him struggle or are they uplifted by
his never-say-die attitude? Could there be some brain injury that has
clouded his judgement? And, yes, I'd love to hear what his family has
to say about this.
Gotta admire him on the one hand, but there's that other hand that's
desperately waving him off. ;o/
What do you think?

Okay, if we're going with the jokes, how about any member of the
Rolling Stones?

Absolutely. Also, age is just a mindset, one can elect to be "old" &
act that way, or not. Now feeling your age is a completely different
animal altogether. My Spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
