It hasn't been a good week for me.

I lost today's training, in part due to barbecue, in part due to too much
soreness. I just didn't have it in me to slowly warm up to a miserable
workout today, but in general I'm actually making progress, so I'm not
complaining.
Killer of several chicken and fish.

I'm done sliding, son. Spent an hour in the gym today. Got a good 30 minutes
cardio and 30 minutes light weights. |

Carnivorous murderer... <grins>
I'm steaming a bunch of veggies right now including lotus root, bamboo
shoots, bean sprouts, peppers, snow peas, pearl onions and baby corn
with garlic/ginger sauce and lemon pepper.
Enough to last about three days.
I may add some sliced carrots, have not decided yet.
I'm killing innocent water dwellers this weekend and will serve the
veggies with some grilled shark steaks (since they were on sale for
$2.99) and a mess of deep fried catfish nuggets. ;-d They've been $1.79
like forever now. Cheap protein.
Most of this weekend was spent at the reloading bench. Dad wants me to
reload around 300 rounds of .25-35 shells he's had laying around for
about 30 years (literally). The rifle belonged to his Grandfather.
Excellent round for deer slaying. ;-) Winchester discontinued that rifle
for several years, but brought it back in 2005. So now the reloading
dies have come down in price. I checked at Midway.com.
I'm told that since the brass is so old, I'll have to anneal the shell
necks to prevent them from cracking on resizing. I always consult more
experienced people on the firearms lists for advice before trying
anything new.
I don't go to the gym on weekends. I got my "workout" hauling big-assed
limestone rocks saturday morning in my ongoing effort to landscape my
front yard.
Now I'm having trouble sleeping again due to that f-ing leg injury...
Just can't win.
Worked up a nice sweat and heart rate. <g>

I'm not a metallurgist, but I smell a misunderstanding among even less
initiated shooters. Old shells were probably reloaded often, which
makes them brittle due to, how you call it? - whatever, repeated
mechanical stress of reloading is what counts, age is not.

They may go with personal experience, where old shells were reloaded
more times than new ones. It's like you bend a metal rod. If you bend
it enough times it will break, so you need to anneal it if you want to
bend it some more. Reloading and firing is basically bending.

I was supposed to do it too, but somehow somebody forgot to recruit me
at the right time, so now it came to me, that I didn't do any rock
hauling this weekend. Plenty of other stuff, though.

Don't do it to your leg.
> Worked up a nice sweat and heart rate. <g>
You could to it without your leg but with a bit of imagination.

Okay, Killer, match this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkX3cgaHhpQ
I had been doing these on the assisted chin/dip machine, but today -
with the camera as my witness - I was motivated to eschew the Disney
ride version of chins for the more manlymachostudly UNassisted
version. You can see the form deteriorate at the end of the set. Yes,
the secret to that seventh rep is apparently to curl into the fetal
position. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82CYk2t3p4o
I purchased a chain and a padlock that (combined) weigh 4.96 pounds
according to the nice lady at the grocery store's meat counter. My
weight belt has to weigh at least .04 pounds and so I'm chinning with
bodyweight plus FIVE ENTIRE POUNDS! Can you say diesel? Once again,
the hitching into the fetal position on those last reps really give me
an extra boost!
