Default Did Push-Ups Again Last Night

I was still able to knock out a good 50 at a time -- maybe another ten
if I was going to wheeze my way through (compare that to GEN Patraeus,
who does 81 in 90 seconds -- but then again, he's light enough to run
a sub-6 mile)...but I noticed something...my left elbow, that's been
giving me trouble since June, was kinda funny...I could actually feel
some bone working, shifting, being acted on...no pain, not even
discomfort, really, but definitely an odd sensation...I haven't done
push-ups in maybe three months, been only powerlifting instead...think
I'll ease off that

I'm going to take this as a good opportunity to revisit a running
program and only do calisthenics for the next month. The gym will be
full of New Year's tourists anyway -- yeah, even the free-weights
section! (Hope nobody hurts themselves!) Think maybe a very quick
powerlifting "checkup" each weekend just to make sure I'm still
strong. Definitely looking forward to running -- especially on snow!
Even with a very gentle, progressive program (I've only been doing
fairly light ellipticals since like October), I expect to lose a good
fifteen pounds by March! I've also been starting to eat rather
healthy -- salads, for example, and relatively limited portions of
meat and carbs and fats....

when i do a lot of pushups my elbow tends to hurt also. i think it's
tendonitis. a year ago i would knock out 75 3-4 times a week, but i
slacked this year. i can still do 50 on a whim. maybe i'll get back to
the pushups every other day again. it takes very little time, what the
hell?

For me, it's only the left elbow (though both wrists have relatively
recently started feeling weird, too -- not in pain or even discomfort,
but definitely sensations where there had been none previously).

I used to do just about 75 (73, IIRC) about fifteen years ago, in the
Army. Speaking of which, many Army push-ups were about 35% "bouncing
affairs" where the trick was to direct and redirect momentum -- hence
I do doubt that GEN Petraeus' 81 push-ups were all perfectly legit.

Yes, that's what I love about calisthenics -- unfortunately, I'm a
real sweat-hog, and just twenty will have me pouring like a
stormfront. That's the other great thing about Army infantry -- it
was okay to sweat and get muddy, and you could piss wherever you
wanted.
