I visited this site - what a crock. Registered dieticians advising you
to eat 140 grams of carbs per day?
"It doesn't matter what type of food it is, it's total carbs that
count". Have they never heard of glycemic
loads or index? "A 15 g carb serving is 1 slice of bread, 1 small
apple, etc." Excuse me? Even my Dempster's
Prebiotic Barley & Sunflower has 18 carbs per slice; no way that any
white bread has less.

Since I've gone to the Bernstein approach of 30 grams of carbs or less
per day, I've watched my sugars
drop dramatically from over 10 to under 5. I'm visiting my doctor
tomorrow to see if I can lower my meds.
I've also noticed that since I've removed a lot of high-GI carbs
(breads, pasta, rice) from my diet, I don't
eat as much, and I've lost almost 15 pounds in the last month. (It
helps that the weather has finally turned
nice in Toronto, so I can ride my bicycle.) According to the BMI
charts, I still need to lose another 10-15 lbs
to avoid being obese, but I think I can do this.

Anyone recommending 100+ grams of carbs per day to any T2 diabetic is
a fraud and a criminal, IMHO.

This is another reason that I distrust the so-called "experts". All
the articles are written by people with "RD"
and/or "RN" after their names, and they are giving deadly advice. Are
you listening, Kurt?

What is the need to post the Jesus bullshit?
