my goal is to strip about 4 kilos of fat in 4 months.
i find myself torn between the diets or either "low carb" (ie cut out white
foods) or
low fat(ie high carb, high protien diet)...

The one which you will stick to.
BTW: low fat is a bad idea.

Piece of cake. Or a walk in the park.

Try low everything, with moderate protein.

You haven't considered moderate carb diets.
4 kilos in 4 months is a reasonable goal that
probably won't require anything drastic.
My recommendation is to keep a journal.
Eat normally for a week and then average
out the numbers (average daily caloric level
and macronutrient (carbohydrate/protein/fat)
ratio/percentages). From there you can
decide what changes to make. A 40-30-30
(40% carbohydrate, 30 percent protein,
30% fat) macronutrient ratio and a 500
calorie per day deficit will get you to
your goal with time to spare.
I have a journaling program in my online
briefcase that you can download if you'd
like.
Another tool to help you make the decision
about which type of diet to start with is
a metabolic typing test. There's one of those
in my briefcase as well. Feel free to try it.

Very true. Take into account your personal food preferences, and
psychological/emotional characteristics, and pick whatever diet you can
stick to.
> BTW: low fat is a bad idea.
Extremely low fat, I agree. But if a low fat diet included sufficient
essential fatty acids, it could be "low fat" and healthy.

I don't think you will even need a special diet if you are working out
that much. Just stay off the junk food and do overdue your meal
portions. |

Where did you get that idea? I am just fucking amazed at the lack of ANY
knowledge in this newsgroup any more. No fat diets are bad, but there is
nothing at all wrong with a low fat diet as long as you get your essential
fatty acids. I can tell you that just about every bodybuilder from the
early 80s to the early 90s used low fat diets and plenty of us got shredded
on it.

Seeing that you know nothing about diet and training, why do you think you
should be answering this question? BTW, your answer was fucking silly too.

So low fat diets are ok as long as you get your fats. Wouldn't that then be
a "not a low fat diet" ???

Why do you think a low fat diet has to cause a dietry deficiency in EFA's to
be considered low fat?

How much does a kidney weigh? ~*OHHHH!!!!!!!!!*~

Ha!
But that was obviously a typo. You musta meant mister 22 inch *WASTE*!
> I don't even think most woman have waists that small.
Speaking of women's waists... http://www.t-nation.com/forum_images/1c408-v9.jpg
God bless T-Nation.
Shute, Robert Schuh is a genetic exceptional (well, excluding the
kidney) who has reported his waist measurement as *29* inches (that was
a Y2K measurement). See: http://groups.google.com/group/misc....4e3e140ec9bfc0
Although, yeah, I love to exaggerate his pretentiousness, too.
Robert also posted that he had a 48" chest and a 28" waist on the day
he placed second to Ray McNeil in the lightheavies of the NPC Western
USA Championships. Those measurements were posted to MFW in 1995. See: http://groups.google.com/group/misc....6aebae4a80ccef
Lately? No idea. And I bet all he'll possibly reply with is that you're
an anonymous pussy troll, an ignorant bitch, or a moron of some sort.
He may also mention the fact that he attended a prestigious prep school
and that his SAT verbal score has achieved sentience and is currently
plotting to take over the world.
Regardless of his own particular idiocy, remember what 'bert used to
say, "Donate your organs. Save a life." Truer words were never spoken.
(screams in attempt to penetrate 'bert's killfile)
YO 'BERT! I READ WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT FRANCO!!!!
Shit! If Franco even at his best stood next to Dorian, Dorian would
have blocked all light coming towards little Franco! :-) I really hate
it when the old time guys run smack about the new guys. They ought to
just give them their props and stop whining about the "good ole days."
Everyone was great for their era, but times move on and everything goes
forward.

ZAT WHAT YOU CALL GIVIN' HIM HIS PROPS, 'BERT???!!!! HEY, IIRC, DORIAN
DOESN'T KNOW YOU AND I BET HE'D NEVER CALL COLUMBU "LITTLE FRANCO"
EITHER!!!!!
(waves arms wildly)
Stupid killfile. Oh, well, he'll stumble across it in Google groups one
day.

No. Daily requirements for essential fatty acids...even for optimal
health...are in the 10-20 gram range. If that was the total fat intake, it
would certainly be considered low fat, maybe even very low fat.
Bu I hear that in the UK, even the corpses eat more fat than that

OK, well during the nineties the low fat diet fad generally equated to a
no-fat diet, which is a "bad idea". Folks who were on a low fat diet
generally, at that time, didn't understand the needs for EFAs!

high protein. moderate carbs. moderate fats.
don't get mayo or bacon on that burger.
don't drink pop.
don't eat anything that has a very high fat content and is stable at
room temperature for extended periods of time (fried potato chips,
doritos, etc.).
make water your main fluid source (distilled is the best).
tweak your diet just like that, and you should be doin' fine. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
