Default Dog Story

Dog was sound asleep on my bed, on top of the blanket. As usual, when I go
to bed, I pull the blanket down. Sheba always wakes up and moves out of the
way until I'm done, then settles back down to sleep. Except tonight.

I began to pull the blanket down, Sheba jumped up from a sound sleep,
hackles raised, bared her teeth, and growled viciously, staring right in my
eyes.

For about five seconds, I thought, "HOLY SHIT! My dog's lost her mind!" And
reminded myself how powerful those little jaws are.

Then she got an incredibly mortified look on her face, as if thinking,
"Oh...MY...GAWD...I just growled at Dad! I am in SUCH trouble!!"

She couldn't stop licking me in apology. I sure would love to know what
dream I woke her up from. Fighting bears, hunting cougars, something good,
I'm sure.

As the Lakota Sioux say, "Sunkanagihlo spanwagehce." "A dog's growling
attitude makes one shiver."

Too funny... :-)
Thanks for sharing that.

I'm going to try to at least get started on the new "doggie palace" for
Ebony and Ferocious this weekend.

I'll take pics when it's done. No mundane dog house for that pair!
