Dutch children are happy !!!

Yeah, yeah, one of these "Holland Promotion" posts again...

ANYWAY,

It seems that UniCef did a little research about the fact were the happiest
children, in the developed Countries, that is, live. WE are number one, and
by a stretch. Second was Sweden, i believe.

The US was at an embarrasing 20th place. The Britsh finished last, on 21.

Well, we shove truckloads of Ritalin and benzodiazepines down their throat,
backed up by Prozac and XTC.

UniCef probably didnt see them when they come off such drugs.
(We do that when they are 15, since we figure its time to grow up...)

It has to be weather-related. I was only in Portsmouth for a month,
but it seemed to rain an awful lot. It was sunny in London, though,
the times I was able to visit. Unfortunately, I don't recall seeing
any children. As a 20something, my focus was the next pub, more than
likely.

Hmm. No matter. It's the correct levels that seem to be the tricky
part as it relates to "happiness" brought on by drugs, imo. I've seen
students who've seemingly lost their entire personality courtesy of
too much or not enough of something. It's all confidential, but it's
not too difficult to assume that a child's receiving meds when they go
from walking on the ceiling to sitting slump-shouldered and glaze-
eyed.

So far as I know, there was no Ritalin when I was a student at
Reinholds Elementary. No, Mrs. Lawrence was our Ritalin in human form.
She and her mighty arm connected to the Paddle of Dooooom. A few
cracks from that combination and dancing, playing, and goofing around
in the classroom immediately became low priority.

done on adults?

Well, i say tricyclic, it was a normal bicyclic with stabilisers. My dad
took them off once i could ride it properly.

Ha! Not today - our third snow day in a row. Log off and go sledding,

Not that I recall, but I'm sure I've commented on a change in a
child's behavior. I don't always assume ADHD meds, however.

Just recently a child in my class, typically very talkative - some
migh even say disruptive - was sitting at a table with his head down,
not saying a word during group instruction. I stopped and asked him,
"Are you not feeling well?" or something like that. Unusual behavior
for the child. He said he had a headache. Probably my fault, right?

Considering how small the country is, i assume they really try to limit
the number of people who are allowed to move there no? Always wanted to
visit. My last name is Brink after all. Lots of Brinks there! A country
where you can smoke a fatty (even though I don't touch the stuff
personally) and has legalized sex trade, is a country for free thinkers as
you say. Dorian Yates lives there half the year or so and loves it. His GF
owns some sort of theater there I recall. Always tells me to come visit. I
love the US, I really do, and all that it stands for, but the pace of life
there as well as other social things has always attracted me.

Thats our general consensus. And we try to maintain that, despite huge
pressure from surrounding countries. The reason that we are still
"untouchable" is our economy and export. We export 25% of the entire export
to the Germans, so they depend on our products. We like to keep it that way.

Most people who come here, do it for exactly that reason.
As long as you dont bother others, or inflict too much damage to yourself,
you can get away with just about anything.

You can even bring your guns. All you need is a year membership and at least
35 visits to keep 5 guns legally.
But like i said, a little research is required. It helps you pick the right
place.

Ritalin can make a kid go nuts. There was a case in Boston where a 7
year old took his friend out and killed him with a baseball bat. And
I knew a pretty wacky kid in my neighborhood who was hyperactive. I
am sure curt just turns away from kids like this without even noticing
them. Parents drug up the kids because they don't know how to control
them. Kids today are spoiled rotten brats.

I saw a weird movie yesterday about a kid living in Iceland. He
lived in a crappy town where it freezing all the time and snowed
frequently. The town was on the coast surrounded by mountains.
Everyone lived in tiny houses and had pretty boring jobs. The movie
ends when an avalanche kills everyone he knows. Now my place may be
small but that movie made me happy to be an American.

I meant American kids are spoiled rotten. I am sure there are
countries out there whose children put a hard days work making
expensive sneakers for their inactive lifestyles.

The Eskimo would not be living in Iceland, would they, they live in
