Default Favorite movie quotes

I have a few favorites from ID4 among many others, but I recently
aquired another one from a new movie I bought:

"Some women buy shoes".
Said by Lucy Liu (Sever)...

in what movie?

It was referring to her ordinance collection. ;-)

It had me lmao.

The rules are to try to name the movie without googling it.

Store info about movies.

Movies are an art form!

Whats fair is fair, the Americans are Barbarians compared to us, but they
have the art form of making movies, or television for that matter, down to a
point!

I'll have to look for that.

Ballistic.
Fun movie, not one of the best, but watchable.

Great martial arts choreography.

Like i said, whats fair is fair.

I have been whatching, at least as far as i remember, American TV and movies
for about 35 years. You name it, i saw it. I would be miserable without it.

Movies give me inspiration.

I saw "Fist of Fury" when i was 10. When i came out of the theatre, i was
drunk. Or high. I had wings.

I still get that feeling when i see a good movie. Not as intense, but
still...
I think you know what i mean.

You remember that short intro from UIP?

Gives me chills. All over.
It sounded like as if something was gonna happen. And it did!

Heh! I love that movie. When i was an undergrad, i went to a horror
all-nighter at the local art house cinema; we watched 28 Days Later
(excellent modern British zombie film - rush out and see it if you
haven't), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (i love this too - the acting and
set dressing are so naturalistic, the plot's good, and it keeps you
guessing - and it has the scariest image ever committed to celluloid,A DOG
WITH A MAN'S FACE), West World (Yul Brynner proto-Terminator), Blade
Runner (no, not horror, but still superb) and The Thing to finish it all
off. Watching that little lot in a row, with only red bull and sweets
wedged between my brain and unconsciousness, was quite an experience!

The guys i did it with are going to try to get to one of the all-nighter
sessions at this year's London SF film festival:

http://www.sci-fi-london.com/

Provided that there's a decent one, of course.

Charlie's Angels? I know, i'm lame.

Some of my favourite quotes:

"It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel
pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until
you are dead."

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the
only way to be sure."
"Ho-ho-hold on one second. This installation has a substantial
dollar value attached to it."
"They can *bill* me."

"It's too bad she won't live. But then again, who does?"

"I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of
bubblegum."

Easy ones, those!

Pretty good for a zombie flick. And the whole catastrophe can be
blamed on animal rights activists. Nice touch.

Actually, one of the best parts in what I consider a rather mediocre
remake. At least they gave Kevin McCarthy a cameo role.

> West World (Yul Brynner proto-Terminator)

Very 70s. I saw it when it first came out. Richard Benjamin made for
an odd "hero." Rather cheesy by todays standards, but pretty cool back
then, and right in line with the contemporaneous "Stepford Wives,"
which featured Benjamin's wife, to whom he is *still married*.

> Blade Runner (no, not horror, but still superb)

Truly prototypical. At that point, the concept of bio-androids hadn't
really been explored.

Along with Michael Rennie and Patricial Neal? Another true classic.

"Not a hard man to track; leave's dead men wherever he goes!".

"How is it on stains?"

"They WERE decently treated. They were decently housed, they were

All from the same film.

And no, it's not one of those recent jerk-off soundbite cinematic
jerkoff festivals.

No... I'm not much of a horror flick fan, but thanks for the recommend!

Ok, I had to cheat for that one.
I've only seen #2, the sequel.

I really liked that movie. :-)
I had it on VHS but have not yet purchased in on DVD.

I need to put it on my shopping list.

I confess I had to google that so won't post the movie name...

I'd never seen it. It looks utterly hilarious so again, one for the
shopping list!

This is why I like to start these threads. Gives me good movie
suggestions.

Thanks. ;-)

I realized that later... sorry!
I've not watched it for around 20 years, when I was a Junior in college
so I forgot. ;-)

I don't own copies of the "Alien" series but I probably should. I
thought that AVP was really good.

Horror? While it's a horrific subject, it's a dramatic thriller and not
in the horror genre, imo.

And with that word in mind, Om, the film has an incredibly important
message as well. An eye for an eye will never bring peace.

School's out until the new year begins and so I've got time to sit back
and watch all three Terminator films as well as the supplemental
schtufff included on the DVDs. It's going to be Arnold Overload!

Agreed on AVP.

And I almost bought the Aliens DVD set, but balked at the hundred-buck
price tag at the time. Seriously ticked that they killed Newt. She
could have been the start of an entirely new segment of the Aliens
franchise, dammit.

(Googles)

Hey, otoh, I might be interested in the life-sized (?) bust of the
alien monster's head nine-disc storage unit!

Plus, specifically on topic this thread:

"Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got
our asses kicked pal!"

"What do you mean 'THEY cut the power'? How could they cut the power,
man? They're animals!"

"Game over man... Game over!"
