Not interested in his opinion of fitness huchsters, but he got the issues
concerning the NBA All Star Game exactly right. We were fucking invaded last
weekend. If the residents of Las Vegas have anything to say about it (and we
do), we won't be having an NBA All Star game here ever again. LA can KEEP
that fan base. We'll struggle by without them.

An update: the owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the NHL met today with
our Mayor to discuss bringing the team here.

A pro hockey team would be acceptabe. Those guys seem to keep the criminal
activity on the ice.

No pro teams. A couple semi pro/minor league teams. Our mayor, the former
mob attorney, has been trying to get a pro team here for years. One of the
problems is our legal sports gambling. The leagues keep insisting on
restrictions on gambling on local teams, but the casinos are under no
obligation to cooperate.

One of the major tourist and convention destinations in the world could
certainly support a pro team. Although we do need to build a new sports
stadium. I think we "may" have the expertise to do so.

Actually would be a natural. All you need to make a hockey team work is
Canuck expatriates or Canuck tourists. Vegas is chock-full of both.
