Sure.
but all my favorites are still gone. Perhaps GooGle pressured the guys from
YouTube to "clean up a bit."
I dont believe in coincedence.
The vids i loved to whatched were "grabbed" from a paysite, mostly UGN.
This takes the fun out of the Internet...
This whole move seems a bit fucked.

Pete is just being lazy. I'm sure he could find plenty to satisfy his
specific fetish if he started looking on Usenet in the alt.binaries.*

Some interesting thoughts on that subject: http://www.foxnews.com/printer_frien...219798,00.html
They're right about the DMCA. Under US federal law, the *less* you do
to control content, the more immune you are from being sued for others
posting copyrighted materials. |

Well, alt.binaries.bigbutts is still around, but they have mostly pics that
arent even OT.
We actually had a discussion there in the late nineties about what
pics/Mpegs should be posted or not.
Some assholes were flooding the group with fat women. Plumpers. And there is
another group for that.
So there were some votes about diving the group in two, or change the name
to alt.binaries.bigbutts-smallwaist.
Which makes a lot of sense.
Anyway, the amount of Mpegs is kinda dissapointing, downloading is slow, and
when you are finished, you have to select all the seperate messages and use
the "combine and decode" function.
YouTube is more fun. WAS more fun.

Sadly though the newsgroups have suffered the same fate as YouTube.
Newservers keep messages for a month or more now. Most serves put
DMCA complaint addresses in your header. And the lawyers can use
thumbnail search engines to find copyrighted images. In the old days
lawyers couldn't find the stuff fast enough before they expired off
the server. I also find the amount of work involved to painful.
Chances are the stuff you are looking for is buried in some no name
group and you just have to happen upon it. |

And now they're trying to convince me that "You have not add any videos
to favorites!" is a true statement. BAH! It is NOT true. I did add
videos to my favorites. They, like Gina and Cherokee apparently, were
ZAPPED!
Double BAH!!!!

| | | the second internet bubble (was: Fuck GooGle !!!) Google buys YouTube for 1.6 billion. How this makes any sense at all is
beyond me. I guess that means we'll be seeing "relevant ad links" in
all the little embedded videos your friends post all over the place on
MySpace. Maybe they'll even add commercials. Oh joy!
Google had/has their own video service--it's called, oddly enough,
Google Video. It's basically the same thing as YouTube. People load
up videos; Google pipes the frames to you; and that Adobe Flash plug-in
-- the one notorious for being practically the only ubiquitous add-on
that crashes ie7 regularly -- animates those frames like a flip-book.
So, why does this purchase make sense? It doesn't. If there's one thing
I know about the interaction between people and the internet, it's that
we don't pay attention to history.
Bad experience dating people you met on IRC? Try Yahoo chat rooms.
Only meeting lunatics with enough emotional baggage to ground an
airplane on Match.com? Try eHarmony.
You lost money investing in AOL during the Time Warner merger fiasco?
Invest in Google: at $429 a share, it can only be undervalued! |

Someone's jaaaaaaaded! ;o)
Hmm. Jaded really doesn't fit. Bitter! Sounds like bitter to me.
Anyway, cheer up, kc!
....
Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Wipe off the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy
It's not your style
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
That you decided to smile
Pick out a pleasant outlook
Stick out that noble chin
Wipe off that full of doubt look
Snap on a happy grin
Spread sunshine all over the place
And just put on a happy
Put on a happy face
Gray skies are gonna clear up
Put on a happy face
Wipe off the clouds and cheer up
Put on a happy face
Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy
It's not your style
You'll look so good that you'll be glad
That you decided to smile
Pick out a pleasant outlook
Stick out that noble chin
Wipe off that full of doubt look
Snap on a happy grin
Spread sunshine all over the place
And just put on a happy
Put on a happy faaaaaaaaace!!!!
(bows)
Thank you, thank you!
Hey! "Friend me" over on MySpace, wouldja? (I promise not to sing.)
