near the end of world war 2, hitler became more and more obsessed with
crushing russia and owning their land. he had visions of driving his
air-cooled sports cars on the endless autobahns of russia he planned on
building after their defeat.
he disregarded the advice of his generals...actually taking over their
tasks in one of the most megalomaniacal examples of micromanagement in
the history of western civilization. he was in charge, and his war
plans were going to be followed by the generals and the troops.
period.
i guess it's a good thing he didn't listen to people who had experience
in the matter...we'd all be speaking german now.

from history."
