I prefer reading websites for stuff like this.
The only PDF's I like to download is for information I want to keep like
scientific papers etc.

I worry about what may be downloading _with_ those files if you see what
I mean?

No comment. ;-)

I hung out on alt.suicide.methods for awhile when I first heard about
the group, just out of morbid curiosity.

The largest percentage of members were generally from the UK... and that
group of members appeared to have the highest turnover. :-(

The ultimate escape for those with no hope.

I would not care. ;-) I drove a VW Passat for awhile until it started
eating me alive in repairs.

I bought a truck because I _needed_ one.

Or a BMW...

I personally will never own another foreign car unless it's a Toyota.
After experiencing the ridiculous repair costs for foreign vs. american
cars from owning used Nissans and that Passat, it's been a relief to
finally have repair costs more affordable.

Reliability is good too. This truck has 110.000 on it and has only been
in the shop _once_ for problems. Other times for the routine
maintenances.

I've found that following the PM schedules saves me the cost of repairs.

Right under the sentence you quote there is this one:
Including, relating to, or affecting all members of the class or group
under consideration:

The class or group under consideration is "they" pertaining to the
Americans if you had trouble comprehending. But, I do like your favoured
interpretation. You can have it your way in the following sentence: It
is a universally held opinion that Bully is a numpty. Ah thank you.
Thank yew very mush.

Do you really think that clicking on a web page is any safer? Anyway,
that's a government research website up there. Do you worry they'll
bug you up with a secret deadly-ray encryption decoder? :-) Also,
there is no "virus" danger as long as you use a simple reader (like
the Acrobat Reader). Finally, I think it must be very simple to find
out where all the temporary downloaded files go, rather than stay
clear of the PDFs...

It probably doesn't work anywhere in the first world. One of the most
interesting books that I have ever read, "The Millionaire Next Door,"
studies the "high net worth" crowd fairly closely. It turns out that
when you crunch the numbers most of the affluent buy cars as if they
were buying them by the pound. They tend to buy cars that offer more
pounds per dollar. Even more interesting is the fact that they tend
to prefer used cars more than the general population.

Of course, there is a distinct difference between having a high net
income and a high net worth. Fancy cars is part of that difference.
