Agreed, and if you're in need of additional cardio for whatever reason,
it can be very brief, as Tabata and others have demonstrated. As I've
mentioned a few times here, I do a minute or two, literally, of
kettlebell swings or snatches most days at the end of my workout, and by
the often-cited measure of resting pulse, I'm fitter than I was in my
days as a run/bike/swim guy. At my age, when your resting pulse is
lower than your age, you're doing good.
