Default Limey needs help

Hi you Yankee doodles-
You are experts in the KB -does anyone have a link for using dumbells
in place of KBs? I am a poor student-I just want to see the technique?
Many yanks.

This might help.

http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1116219

This article doesn't have dumbbell replacements for the two most
popular kbell lifts (the swing and the snatch), but with just a little
imagination I would bet that you could work out your own substitutes.
I wouldn't recommend trying to snatch a dumbbell with a rope tied to
it though.

Your best bet is a product Keith has recommended, the kettlestack. It's
a plate-loaded kettlebell handle.

If that's out of your budget, you can easily enough make a kettlebell
handle for swings. Google

make your own kettlebell

and you'll find this page:

http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/shenand.../Isotonic.html with
instructions and pictures towards the bottom.

Here's another option:

http://www.tacticalathlete.com/packweight.htm

This thing actually doubles as flight bag or other tote-along kind of
suitcase.

Last but not least, there are some kinds of kettlebells you can load,
e.g., from http://www.usgsf.com. They come as 16 kg but you can throw
loose change, small rocks, or whatever else you like inside to increase
the weight.

That ought to get you started.
