| | | Looking for some advice.. 33 years old
6'2 215lbs
25% body fat
Workout 3-4 hours per week. 70% Free weights machines 30% cardio.
Looking to lose body fat and some weight. I feel pretty strong I just
can't seem to shed as much body fat as I would like. Here is a typical
days food/schedule
Morning- Low sugar oatmeal one serving, apple or banana snack, gym,
boneless/skinless chix breast, vegetable, fruit again for snack,
dinner tuna with fat free mayo(or chix breast) on whole wheat, bowl of
shredded wheat or protien shake.
No beer, no soda, no candy, etc. Yet I can't seem to lose any weight
or body fat. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

First step - you need to quantify what you eat - calories, carbs, fats,
protein
see http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
then you would have a baseline - you would know if your are having adequate
protein. we would go from there

Based on what you've said, I'd add some fat to your diet. Replace the
fat-free mayo with the real thing or at least a low-fat version, have
some red meat or fish, take a healthy oils supplement. Fat in your diet
does not necessarily equal fat around your middle.
Know that if you're eating at maintenance, you'll need to cut about 500
calories per day to drop some weight, but first giving a more balanced
diet a try.
Just my opinion.

Thanks. I have always had some aversion to having much fat intake. I
will look into it. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
