Default MYOPLEX advice

I am fairly new to weight lifting. I am 22, 5'11", 162 lbs (73Kgs) and
decently toned. I've been lifting for about 2 months (4-5 times a
week). My intent is to gain muscle, and look better by spring break
(mid march), and even better by july. I am currenltly lifting my close
to my max, and think require supplements to go higher. I've all ready
been eating more.

I've heard of MYOPLEX from quite a few people at the gym, and would
like to get some advice, and also they are quite expensive at retail,
so any good place I can get them cheaper...

I've also heard of Cytosport Muscle Milk and didnt know the difference.

Thanks,
Kevin

What does "lifting my close to my max" mean? Doing 1 rep max workouts
on a regular basis is very likely to cause an injury.

Ahhhh.. There's this thing called the Internet where you can search
for products and even buy them on-line. :-)

I'd say to keep eating healthful foods, continue lifting, and get plenty
of rest. Use a <insert name of instant protein source here> if you find
you're not getting enough protein. Maybe you didn't have enough
time too prepare a meal, you're out of food or are bored of eating
the same food, etc. It's not some magic potion that will make that
much of an difference, it's mainly a convenience, if you have the $$.

Having an experienced trainer at least review your workout, diet, etc.
will probably be the best way to spend some money.

Search the Internet. You'll find plenty of material.

You dont NEED to use a protein powder/meal replacement powder, they are
just a convenient way to add more protein into your daily diet without
the addtl fat from other protein sources.

Both are meal replacements because they contain a larger amount of
carbs/higher calories per serving:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/eas/myoplexnew.html
http://cytosport.com/products/musclemilk_info.html

Compared to other protein powders like:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/eas/whey.html
http://www.vitaglo.com/eas129.html
http://www23.netrition.com/isopure_protein_page.html
http://www.vitaglo.com/synewhpr2lbs.html

Use those links to do some homework in looking up online prices and the
differences in ingredients.

What do you mean by this? After 2 months you are nowhere near close to your
max; you're not even considered a beginner yet!

That's the idea. Have you been ensuring you get plenty of protein?

Hmmm, the other protein sources I rely on have less fat than an MRP, e.g.
tuna. chicken.

Unfortunately, I've met so-called trainers who literally didn't know
the difference between a set and a rep.

He meant he is almost maxed out, very close to a plateau, and want to find
out if certain supplements can help him break through it.

Is English your second language or something?

He didnt mention that he was doing that.

You misspelled skinny.

Yes. It's called food.

Eat more than more.

It's all right. As long as you know the difference between chicken
beef and pork you'll be fine.

And, if Andrzej's word is to be taken seriously - and I suspect it
should be - you might just want to work on pooping BIG at least two
times a day.

Maybe in a MRP, but not so in a basic protein powder.
And one can only eat so much tuna and or chicken (well some maybe I'm
not one of them but maybe the OP is)
Average fat in a chicken breast (boneless/skinless/baked) = 3 - 5 grams
Average fat in canned tuna (light/water/5.8oz can) = 1.4 grams fat

Protein powder examples - a couple I've used:
Natures Best Isopure dutch chocolate = zero fat
ProRated Costco brand = 1.5 grams fat per serving

So alternative choices and convenience like I said previously ..

Yeap. If you do not, you don't eat more yet. It's called eating less
than more.

Aren't you using some meal replacement drinks? It's not exactly food,
in my book. Would you chew more I think that 2-3 seconds wouldn't be
enough.

They are shakes high in carbs and protein, moderate in fat.

I think so.

I just cant imagine myself eating 6 solid meals a day. I would go insane.
