Default New Workout for Over 55

My freaking body doesn't heal like it used to. I have tendontis and my
left foot has a strained arch. I was running 3 to 5 miles, kickboxing
on alternate days, and lifting.

Now I can't run worth crap. I cant kickbox because of the tendonitis. I
have resorted to a series of exercises using an exercise ball and free
weights. I walk now instead of run. I do some 'power yoga'.

All this and I can't seem to lose the weight I gained when I stopped
running.

Any ideas on how to amp up this work out for gramps?

Anyone else a bit suspicious about a guy who would let cats rest on his
belly?

I mean, are we SURE he belongs in this group? I didn't spot a single
dog or gun.

I am more suspicious about single women who own a dog...

Where do you have this thendonitis? It affects possible programs we
could try to prescribe.

Try cycling. Real cycling as opposed to indoor TV watching. When
cycling on real bikes outdoors there are two things which make a
difference. First is cooling. You can't amp the intensity of
stationary cycle too much, because cooling is the limiting factor. Out
there wind helps a lot. Second is daylight. Daylight helps with your
mood, so less stress eating for you.

Plenty, but first we must know what kind of exercises you can safely
do.

Cant kickbox, but you could you can still box - try working a speedbag.
You can run, but you can walk you say, so do that 30-60 minutes
everyday. Everyday. Add in hills and stairs too.
If at a gym, use an eliptical machine or a recumbant bike - use one of
the programs on them to challenge yourself.
Just because you cant do what you were doing doesnt mean you cant
evolve and do something else. Contrary to popular belief, old dogs can
learn new tricks.

Calories. Cut back.

Yes stop thinking of yourself as 'gramps' and thinking you are too old
to change and adapt. Lots of 'older' guys have great physiques, so quit
whining. Mindset is important.
Browse the photos here for some motivation:

And btw if your tendonitis doesnt get better (and it should, dont
accept it as just old age) consult a doctor (or another one) to find
out what you should be doing to speedup recovery:

Hey great link joni - thanks. I was inspired enough to slow down my
whining. Seriously, good advice.

*Single* women who own a dog are often hot.

The trick is making sure the dog doesn't confuse enthusiastic sex with an attack.
