Default OK... "pro" wrestling CANNOT be real.

I went to some wikipedia page about a "pro" wrestler, Sting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sting_%28wrestler%29

they act like he actually was beating people. what an encyclopedia, right?

I went to "real prowrestling dot com" (not giving them a link)... and THEY
claim it's "100% real".

SERIOUSLY, this stuff came out as fake in 1995, I saw it on tv, there was
an NBC special... why would anyone believe it... it was debunked and is
fake.

Define "fake." No-one is trying to hurt each other (unless they get
angry) and the tables and chairs are special props, but I guarantee you
that the stunts are quite real and the insurance premiums quite high.

Think of pro-wrestlers as specially trained stuntmen with
improvisational speech. It's entertainment, but it's live stunts,
generally unrehearsed except for who wins a match, and people can get
hurt (or even die).

Please keep this trash out of RSPW. We talk about fake titties and
politics around here!

Is Hamlet real? Is Aida real? Is Swan Lake real? The answer is that
all are scripted and the question is how well the script is followed.
The problem with WEE WEE today is that the scripts are not very good
and the result is often problematic, while TNA scripts are often even
worse. But "fake"is not the word to use except when speaking of Randy
Orton or HHH.

www.realprowrestling.com is the website of real pro wrestling, not WWF or
whatever. It is a wrestling league for actual wrestling using rules that
are a mix of college and olympic rules, and yes, it is for real. For the
most parts the athletes are olympic wrestling hopefuls.

Actually, there is an even more appropriate use of the term "fake"
when watching the WWE. My wife uses it regularly when any of the
"Divas" come on.--Joe (n.j.) [mWo]

And why have you decided to bless those of us in this weight lifting
newsgroup with this thread?

Perhaps for the same reason you decided to bless those in the other
newsgroups by cross-posting.

Duh.

You should spend more time with your child rather than on Usenet.

The matches are fixed in the octagon, too.

My favorite match was the tag match between Dr. Octagonecologyst and
Chewbacca Uncircumcised vs. Kurt Cobain and Roger from Zapp.
