| | | Omelet (Blood Pressure) I have a friend who BP is high in the morning (145/81) and (130/80) later in
the day.
What's going on?
His blood is like water also. He's a new diabetic and when I stick him blood
went every where.

I'm not a Doctor.
Sounds like he needs to see one.

I told him to see a doctor again.
So it's up to him, fuck him.

Not unusual for bp to be higher in the morning.
hbp is readily addessable, tho: 2-4 mi brisk walking, Vit D, magnesium, niacin, vinpocetin. Most is in book, High Blood Pressure Hoax.
Watery blood is a sign of anemia.
"New diabetes", if type II, should be manageable without injections, but
reqs. some diligence--diet, exercise, supps, small freq meals, low glycemic
index.

I took him under my arm on the diabetes type II and we have that down to
around 120. But he still runs his mouth about the blood and the pressure.
I got his sugar down and that's all I can down.
Ha, thanks for both of your post, I learned something.

I think that 130/90 is more recently considered not problematic.
As an aside, the neurosurgeon report 2 days ago said my recent MRI shows
no movement in the minute of tumour they had to leave in my brain has
not changed in 18 months and may indeed just be scar tissue. So woohoo.
They don't want to see me for a year. Unless the shunt in me head plays
up. So all is good. I asked about lifting (deadlifts etc) and its
possible effect on the shunt but they are all kinda clueless (they don't
see many recreational lifters after radical brain surgery) but as I lift
heavy, for me, without issue I intend to continue. |

Congrats! My issues are minor compared to yours.
Consider seeing a sports doc if you can find one.
The Ortho I saw today is an Ortho surgeon and a sports doc, and I've
known him and his spotless reputation for 20+ years. Since the MRI and
the X-rays his office took this morning show a good knee, good bones and
no obvious injuries to the lower leg, he questioned me heavily about my
back history. Yeah, I've suffered on and off from Sciatica for a few
years as well as Bursitis (due to injury) in my right hip. He believes
the fall exacerbated that and the pain in the lower leg is due to nerve
transmission.
I still think it's sprained but that's not going to show up on any
imaging so I'll just work on that on my own and follow his lead for the
other stuff. He pressed along on my upper right hip and one spot he hit
got a good "OW!!!" out of me, so the Bursitis (Tendonosis actually) is
back. He gave me a Cortisol shot in the bad spot on my hip (another
"ouch") and ordered some lower back x-rays.
Now, we wait...
I actually trust this guy. :-) I've been hurting now for a couple of
months, a little more time won't matter. He told me to give the shot
over the weekend, then call him and let him know how it's going. He'll
prescribe other stuff if and when needed. I should be able to get the
other requested x-rays tonight at work for him so he can get more
information.
Even with insurance, this is going to cost...
He encouraged my interest in Yoga and wants my chicken foot recipe. <g>

For the systolic value, 'high' starts at 140. The range between 120 and
140 is considered pre-hypertensive. For the diastolic value, that range
is between 80 and 90 or 95. |

have time with the lifting and cycling.

The Yoga video I bought is sorta aerobic. It's constant movement with
slow stretches rather than holding the poses.
By the way Burr, I'm sorry I was a bit short with you about your friend.
I'm leery about giving opinions/advice to someone that obviously
seriously ill as I am, indeed, not a doctor. It's a standing joke in my
field that even experienced lab techs know just enough to be dangerous...
That "watery blood" thing does indicate a serious anemia and can kill
him in short order if he does not get help. The higher blood pressure
might be caused by him overworking his heart due to that anemia.
But, I'm not a doctor so I don't know what I'm talking about. ;-)

It's not going to to away any time soon.
Such is life.
Working in health care gives me a good perspective. There are worse
things and even tho' I'm whining a bit here (which I apologize for), I

I'm awaiting my next conversation with the Ortho after seeing that
sucky x-ray in person. I'm curious about what he has to say.
He's a skilled surgeon (one of the best at our hospital) but I'd rather
try Chiro' first. Once you let somebody cut your body open, there is no
going back...
I may try to get a pic to post if the tech is open to it. It's ugly.
There are 5 vertebrae out of alignment and the entire lower spinal plate
that connects to the pelvis is crooked due to the curvature.
No wonder I hurt. I'm lucky it's not worse.
<sigh>
There are worse things...
I had scoliosis as a teenager, (a fact I'd totally forgotten to share
with the doc) that was repaired over 18 months by a skilled Chiro', so I
have faith in that route.

You need a control for that experiment, though. Find 10 similar people to him, stick them all, and
see how THEY bleed for comparison.
