Default Ordinance boxes as dumbells...

Cleaned out, sorted and inventoried my ammo boxes tonight.
By the time I was done moving them out then moving them back in, the 2
boxes of 250 rounds of shotshells I bought felt light. ;-) They needed
to be put away in the extra box that I had bought for them.

Not a serious workout, but I broke a mild sweat.

With the handles, I'm betting I could work up a couple of routines with
them....

Trying to talk dad into going skeet shooting either tomorrow or Friday.
My vacation ends Monday night.

<sigh>

We bought two boxes of skeet clays yesterday to play with, but I also
bought some skeet peg stands for use at the pistol range.

That should be fun for practicing acquiring*multiple targets while
moving. On a weekday, we might have the pistol range to ourselves...

See if you can picture this.

An axe or hatchet blade at the "target end"
of the pistol range. Sharp end of the blade
facing the shooter. Mount it somehow solidly
(weld it, bolt it, whatever).

Now about 6" further down range and a couple
inches to either (both) sides of the axe head,
mount a clay pigeon (one on each side of the
axe blade).

Shoot at the sharp edge of the blade with
non-jacketed wadcutters. If you hit the
edge just right, the bullet splits and
"kills" two clays at once.

I don't have any video of it but I've got marksman
badges and my name on certificates and trophies
at the cop shop..;-)

It's easier than it looks. Start out by sticking
an adhesive dot or a rubber ball on the edge of
the blade. Gives you something to target on.

The guy that would usually beat me at matches
could do it with two Ace of Spades playing cards,
and punch the middle of the spades.
