Correct.
And we have a LOT of "misc."
Perhaps we should change the name to
misc.misc.misc.misc.misc.misc.fitness.weights.
Or just misc.misc.misc...

I haven't seen the film yet, but I've seen Borat on HBO, and some of the
clips are great. Word of mouth is it's a great movie. |

Right on Pete - and I congratulate you on your compassionate nature - in
fact most of these people have sexual fantasies and best way maybe that you
could assist them is to allow these intellectually handicapped idiots to get
their hands on your big assed black girlfriend. That would be a great start! |

Damn, what a long sentence!
Anyway, i am gonna show this message to my girlfriend. Women have a network
that covers the entire globe, all the down to down under.
Amyway, let us sing again!
Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,
Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.
Buying bread from a man in brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,
I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.
Lying in a den in bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?
And he said,
Oh! do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

It is like that. A really good movie stirs up strong emotions in both
directions. I suspect that many people will walk out of the theater
horribly offended. The movie was sold out and people where laughing
out loud throughout. I think even I was horribly offended at one
point but still couldn't help but laugh. It isn't for everybody
though.
I like Napoleon Dynamite but never quite got what made it so popular. |

Did he insult the "muslims"?
Did they laugh at themselves?

What exactly did he say that offended you?
I am intensely curiues...

Much of the offensive humor doesn't come from him directly. I only
recall a few things toward Muslims. One was a man telling him to
shave his mustache because he looked like one. The man felt people
would treat him better if they didn't think he was a Muslim. Another
was his choice to drive cross country rather than fly. Just in case
the Muslims attacked like on 911.

Well I am not easily offended. He pretty much insults everyone.
Several groups of people are insulted more frequently than others.
But the part that finally got me was all visual. Picture a grossly
obese man wrestling with a skinny man. Now picture them hairy and
both naked. This carried on to such an extent that I couldn't help
but laugh at some point. The fight breaks out when Borat catches his
obese friend beating off to his precious Pamela Anderson whom he
intends to marry. It escalates to a point where the obese man is
sitting on his face and telling him to lick is butthole. Then
continues with them running throughout out the hotel naked and still
fighting. |

That's only because Will is a character in that movie. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...es/MFW/kip.jpg

I don't know anything about the movie, but there is about 30% of
people from Kazakhstan who describe themselves as either atheists or
non-religious. Among those who don't reside in Kazakhstan, the
percentage is likely higher. Kazakhstan students that I've been
acquainted with didn't believe in anything. One started to hang out
with US missionaries in the 90s, discovered God and turned Christian,
as I recall. |

Well that part isn't far off from the movie. I don't recall them
mentioning Kazakhstan religion. Other then their very twisted view
toward the Jews. In the movie he has a touch with Christian religion
and then use that to further persecute the Jews.
Have you heard anything about people's reaction to the movie in
Kazakhstan? I heard they banned the actor from visiting at first then
changed their minds. I am not sure if that means they want him to
come so they chop his head off. I think their initial concern may be
that Americans will believe aspects of the movie are real. The parts
that are real are the American reaction to his behavior. So the movie
is often poking more fun at the American perception of Kazakhstan
than of the people living in Kazakhstan. |
