Default Overweight personal trainers?

Ever notice that some of the personal trainers at 24hr Fitness have a
big gut and a bit overweight? I thought personal trainers were suppose
to be lean and cut. That leads me to believe that you just need to be
certified and have some degree to be one. Pretty weird.

Some gyms pay really crappy wages to their personal trainers. Some gyms even
demand a sort of rental fee from the personal trainers and a cut. So the
best personal trainers are usually at those boutique gyms that cater to the
"professionals" and the second best are at independant gyms where they can
do whatever they want. Then the third tier are at the best of the
chain-store gyms, and the fat-gut trainers are where the rates are lowest
and the pay sucks for their fat asses.

Most personal trainers are losers.

There was one personal trainer who obviously had sets mixed up with
reps while directing their client.

Yes, pretty weird.

I mean if you can't get sets versus reps correct so far as fundamental
terminology goes then give it the [expletive deleted] up, pal!

They are basically whores who make money from the ignorance of the laziest
people. I imagine it is hard for them to have any self-respect.

Every day they come into the gym and try to figure out who the dumbest
people are so they can pitch them some personal training classes.

LOL, just take a look at some of the MFW regulars!

From the bodybuilding magazines, it would appear that all them
bodybuilders do personal training and nutritional consultation on the
side! I suppose they're all in California, though, which is why we
get the left-overs.

It may even be that, like dogs WRT their owners, personal trainers
tend to reflect their clients: some rolly-polly sort could be
intimidated by the sight of an Adonis and would prefer a trainer a bit
reminiscent of themselves. It might also depend on how up-scale the
gym is. It might even be that the trainer is "off-season"...I
remember seeing a picture of Lee Priest off-season and he had a
genuine gut, like he was hiding a medicine ball underneath! He also
had a big fat throat, too...really, he looked like Rush Limbaugh with
earrings and tats!

All I know is that if I ever get a personal trainer it has to be
someone with experience and has "been there", that is, is in or has
been in awesome shape. Sick of these so called personal trainers
being spat out of their 6 week (or watever) courses.

Wow, the "Rush Limbaugh with earrings and tats" observation is what
caught your eye?

Go suck on a bottle of AIDS.

Are you old enough to remember the AIDS chocolate candies that used to get
advertised on TV back in the 1970s? Bet they went out of business.
