Most things are fine, in moderation. Peanut butter has
more fat than ice cream, it also has more protein though.
Most people get more than enough fat in their diet and
peanut butter wouldn't be on the list of things to eat,
if you're trying to avoid gaining weight.
Why would you specifically eat it pre/post workout?
What do you think it will do for you?
If the answer is, 'Nothing. I just like peanut butter.'
then that's OK, just avoid eating the whole jar. If you
feel it's going to help you get through the workout and/or
recover faster, etc. then you'd be better off with other
choices. Turkey, chicken, tuna sandwich, post workout,
will aid in recovery. Something with roughly a 4:1 ratio
of carbs to protein. Something like Gatorade, Powerade, etc
might help you pre/during the workout. |
